Do you take phone orders?

Strings By Mail is happy to accept phone orders.  Because we are primarily an internet business there is not always someone available to answer the phone; but you can always leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.  The best time to find someone available is during East Coast business hours.

 

How do you ship?

Strings By Mail usually uses the United States Postal Service.  Click here for policy details.

 

Do you accept returns?

Items in original, restockable condition can be exchanged (returned for credit toward another purchase) within 30 days. Items must include all packaging and can not be opened or visibly used. Please be aware that some items are not returnable. Open or used strings, opened CDs, opened DVDs, used accessories and all sheet music will not be accepted for return.

We work very hard at keeping your strings as fresh as possible. We store all strings in a climate controlled environment and we regularly rotate our stock. For this reason, unopened strings can only be returned within 30 days so that all of our customers receive the freshest possible strings. Shipping charges will apply to exchanges.  Please inspect your order immediately upon receipt. Opened, handled and otherwise used strings are not returnable.

All returns and exchanges are subject to a 15% restocking fee.

Do you replace "defective" or broken strings?

Strings do break. It is an inevitable occurrence that strings under tension will occasionally break, unwind or otherwise become unplayable. Strings By Mail will not replace strings due to these reasons. Please contact the manufacturers directly if you wish to pursue a replacement string.

Due to the many variables regarding intonation and timbre inherent within the guitar and other stringed instruments Strings By Mail can not accept returns of strings for reasons of tone, pitch, or playability of the strings. String quality is the responsibility of the manufacturer and is represented by the manufacturer's limited warranty. All claims are the responsibility of the customer and are strictly between the customer and the manufacturer.

Is your ordering secure?  

The part of the website you use to order is protected by a special secure server.   This means it is protected by using a 128bit encrypting method, and others can not see the information you give. The only thing we use your credit card information for is to send it to the credit card company for payment of your purchases.   We do not pass any of your information on to anyone not involved in completing your order.   We do not sell a mailing list to anyone.

Do you use “cookies”?

Cookies are used on this website only to allow our server to help complete your order, and speed up your shopping experience. At no time is any personally identifiable information (i.e. credit card numbers, etc) transmitted or stored in our cookies. Our cookies are not permanently stored on your computer, and are removed completely from your system when you exit your browser.  (Any time you have trouble you can email, phone, fax, or mail us your order.).   Once you get to the check-out section of our site all information you submit is securely encrypted.

What is your privacy policy?

Online ordering is secure.  128bit Encryption technology, the same encryption strength used by banks and financial institutions, is used to insure the security of all customer information during and after the ordering process.
