Kling-On Clear REMOVABLE Guitar Top Protector Evolution EV-3P-C

    By: Steve Ganz
BEWARE: Do not get this product if you want to remove it from your french polished shellac top. Period. I installed it on a finish cured for more than 2 years. Lifts the finish off the wood when you try to remove the "protector".
The product does not conform the Note on the description:
"Note: It is recommended that Kling-On protectors be removed after each use, and only used on fully cured finishes at least six months old. Completely non-reactive to any guitar finish. Works with French-Polish finished guitars. Protection for this type of finish was one of the main reasons Kling-On guitar top-protectors were initially developed. "
That is very misleading in my personal experience.

Excelent strings!!! Very clear, bright and loud sound! And realy, realy long lasting, even basses! Guitar's sound transforms to better side! Realy classical sound, like Chopin's piano in high :)

I trieded the carbon strings for the first time. It takes some time to get used to them, but there is not so terable difference in playing feel between carbon and high tension nylon, just maybe it is harder to control sound tonality (like vibrato, rubato and so on) on carbon trebles, expecialy on the 1st string.

    CONSUMPTION
Basses: liked very-very much! Extremaly long lasting, enough deep, loud and long sounding!!! Seems the best I ever tried!!!
Trebles: very clear, bright and loud sounding, not harder to play than hard tension nylon. A little bit problem in 1st string - too much bright sound in my personal opinion (but I use spruce top guitar), but very good for 2nd and even 3rd. Also it is harder to control sound tonality on carbon (seems at all carbon, not only Savarez set) then on nylon, takes time to get used.

    -- 10 from 10 for basses
-- 8 from 10 for playing feel (-2 only on trebles: harder to control tonality than on nylon)
    -- 10 from 10 for 2nd and 3rd treble
-- 8 from 10 for 1st treble (-2 personal view on too much brightness in sound)
-- 9 from 10 for sounding at all (-1 just becouse nothing is ideal :))
    -- 10 from 10 for manufacturer quality

--and 10000 from 10 for "Strings By Mail"!!! :)

The Nylgut trebles are extraordinary. Great tone and feel. The also last forever. The basses are mediocre. I wish they still sold the trebles separately.

D'Addario EJ25B Flamenco Guitar Strings with Black Trebles, Full Set

    By: Michael Stilwell
Basses are very bright sounding. Trebles are dull except top E. Overall volume is low and sound and volume are not balanced across the strings. Basses settle into tune very quickly; by the second day they were stable. I tried these on my spruce/cypress flamenco guitar and was very disappointed. By way of comparison the LaBella 2001 Flamenco normal tension strings sound fantastic on the same guitar.

This would have been a 5-star review if I'd just been reviewing the very beautiful trebles. They are warmer & more 'natural'-sounding than Alliances (perhaps not quite as loud), but not as warm as Goldin carbon trebles. As another reviewer mentioned, tho, the high-tension trebles feel really, really hard ... even if you like hi-tension trebles normally, I'd suggest ordering the Normal tensions for a first try. Great intonation!

The basses? Hmmm ... not really my cup of tea. An oddly slow attack (which pairs awkwardly with the fast-attack trebles), & I personally find the tone (very homogenous in terms of overtones) just kind of boring. Strings can sound totally different on different guitars tho, so good luck.

The trebles should be sold separately !!!!!!!!!

Snark SN-2 Clip-On Chromatic All Instrument Tuner

Although the tuner works well, the ball joint breaks almost instantly in the hands of teenage students. I have purchased several of these, and none have lasted. If the ball joint holder would be made of a more flexible material, perhaps the tuners would last longer.

These are my favourite bass strings. I've tried the other silver strings, which I found to be a bit too bright and grating. These basses have a wonderfully smooth sound. They have a warm, rich sound. Also they are not to stiff in tension. Just right. The last longer than any basses I've had, tune up fast, and hold pitch nicely right away. And they aren't as squeaky as most basses. The trebles are also very nice, but I find the tension is a little higher than 'normal'. So I match a different treble with this set. But it's well worth the money for these basses, and they'll last twice as long as a cheaper set.
  • 21st Century Cejilla for 6 string classical / flamenco guitar

21st Century Cejilla for 6 string classical / flamenco guitar

    By: Walter de la Brosse
I received the product yesterday. Used it right away. Really nicely made. Some of the newer cejillas have multiple woods, cost a bunch, but are so large that they get in the way. My interest is not how ornate, rather, how effective--this one is attractive, but effective.

These strings give beautiful balance in tone, flexibility for playing and overall feel. The sustain in tone that the wound G-String produces beats any other plastic treble I have used! My only complaint is the G-String's winding is so thin that it tends to unwind after so much use. For this reason, I'd personally recommend purchasing an additional G-String along with the full set.

Rosette Diamond Guitar Bridge Beads Set of 7, Matte Black

Simple and effective! The least gimmicky of all the guitar gimmicks I have ever seen. Makes tying a breeze and increases the string break angle very nicely. Stays secure and looks very professional.

This string has a excellent sustain and a good bass, so could be a good option for the base guitar ... maybe isn't the best for guitar solo... was my first experience with the brand, and I really appreciated the quality.

I also can't understand why these strings have such great reviews. It's true the intonation is probably the best of all string brands. Except for the third string, which is always a problem. It's jus the way they sound though. The basses are really bright and twangy. The trebles I would describe as stiff and plasticky. You get a lot of nail chatter on them. Clicky sounds, because they are platicky. They're not bad strings. Just unworthy of all the accolades, in my opinion, when there are so many others that sound so great in comparison.
  • La Bella 2001 Classical MT Classical Guitar Strings, Treble Set

La Bella 2001 Classical MT Classical Guitar Strings, Treble Set

    By: Thomas Friedrich
These are pretty good strings. They are reviewed as 'punchy' and 'snappy' strings. I found that to be true, but I also found them to have nice colour and tone variety. The normal tension strings are 'soft' feeling, thus you can pull them around, if you want vibrato etc. I would say the don't last as long as other strings, as a result.

I gave these strings five stars because I have done a pretty exhaustive search for the right basses over the years for my Ramirez 1a, and spruce Peter Barton. I've tried the Labella silver strings, and the Hannebach's. Both sounded 'grating' compared to these silky smooth Pyramids. These Pyramid basses sound so full and resonant. You can get good tone variety out of them. The normal tension trebles seem more like normal to high tension. To stiff for me, but they sound great. I use the basses and toss the trebles, but if you don't mind a little higher than normal tension these might be ideal for you.

La Bella RN-M Rectified Nylon MT Classical Guitar Strings, Treble Set

    By: Thomas Friedrich
If I gave these five stars, that would mean I have found my favourite string. I haven't yet. But these are great strings if you are looking to warm up a bright sounding guitar. I have them on my Ramirez 1a cedar. Although the string is opaque (rectified), it's nice and smooth and doesn't produce unwanted sounds from you nails, like other rectified nylon's on the market. It is also warmer than others. I've tried the D'Addario and Savarez, and these are better. You can get more colour out of them than those strings. They also seem to have better intonation than the standard Labella's, but not quite as good as the D'Addario RN's.

  • Abel Armrest Original - Armauflage - for classical or acoustic guitar

Abel Armrest Original - Armauflage - for classical or acoustic guitar

    By: Melvin Hughes
I ordered an Andreas Abel Armrest in mid-June. I had seen it being discussed on classical forums but wanted to try it on my acoustic steel string guitars. I believe that the idea of an armrest to keep the arm free of the sound board as well as to ease the angle between the guitar top and side has great merit. But I have been hesitant to glue an armrest onto my instruments. Also, since I had several guitars, I wanted something that might be transferrable to all or at least most of them.

I play three acoustics regularly. Two of them have a rear bout depth of 4 5/8". The third is 4 7/8". The Abel Armrest as it is delivered has a adjusting screw that allows the armrest to accept guitars from 3.75" - 4.625" deep. I found that it would also work on my deepest bodied guitar if I removed the screw before trying to fit the armrest on it. Once the armrest was in place, I could re-engage the screw. But it did not thread very deeply. Later, I found a mention of a longer adjusting screw on Andreas' German site for the armrest. This longer screw would allow the armrest to fit on guitars up to 5 1/8" deep. I wrote to Andreas directly. He advised me to contact Stringsbymail as they had the longer screws available. I had overlooked the listing on Stringsbymail's site under Guitar Supports- "Guitar Support Parts." I got a longer screw and now the support works flawlessly on all three instruments.

The only area I can see for possible modification in the future might be the surface of the armrest. My skin is very sensitive to textures. The Andreas Abel Armrest is in no way abrasive or uncomfortable. My experience with it indicates that the plastics used are very inert. But I find that for me, it is more comfortable to use over time with either a sleeve or a long-sleeved shirt. I wonder if something like a thin leather cover might improve my sense of the plastic. But then the costs might be prohibitive.

*** This armrest exceeded my expectations. It is very comfortable to play on. It transfers effortlessly between instruments. It lifts the arm slightly off the soundboard, placing it in a very optimal position for all types of guitar playing. It is such a pleasant feeling to realize that my right arm has not been creased by the sharp angle between the guitar top and side after playing for any length of time. Especially with the very deep guitar, it has made my playing position much more comfortable. I was also greatly impressed with Mr. Abel's rapid responses to my very poorly written German request for assistance. He is committed to helping people play their instruments as comfortably as possible. I think he has designed an extremely versatile aid for that purpose.
  • Philip's Learn ALL the Notes of the Guitar Flash Cards

Philip's Learn ALL the Notes of the Guitar Flash Cards

    By: Jose Sepulveda
what I discovered is a remarkably simple, yet highly effective little device designed to teach the guitar student, whether beginning or more advanced, all the notes on the fingerboard without expending, as I did, two entire years learning from guitar methods.
Practicing four hours per day, it took me over two years to become comfortable reading and playing all the notes on the guitar fingerboard.
Using "Philip's learn ALL the notes on the guitar flash cards" one could quite easily learn what took me over TWO years to learn in less than one! It is a method that is fun to use and one needn't even have the guitar with him or her in order to "Practice".
I am a professional performer on the guitar and I am convinced that this is the easiest and fastest method out there for learning the notes on the guitar neck without blood, sweat OR tears.
  • Saddle-A-Bout Acoustic or Classical Guitar Armrest, Dark Brown, Small

Saddle-A-Bout Acoustic or Classical Guitar Armrest, Dark Brown, Small

    By: Bunny Barnes
I absolutely LOVE my Saddle-A-Bout! I use a steel string Maton guitar and it has a matte finish. In the warmer weather, my forearm would stick to the top of the guitar and it began to discolor the spruce top. I had to make sure I was wearing long sleeves so I wouldn't stick to the guitar. That becomes intolerable in hot weather, especially when playing gigs outside. Now with my Saddle-A-Bout, I don't stick to my guitar, I'm not uncomfortable, and best of all, the guitar's finish remains undamaged! Thanks, Saddle-A-Bout!!

Philip's Learn ALL the Notes of the Guitar Flash Cards

    By: Will Fly
I've been playing guitar for nearly 50 years and taught myself to read music during that time. Having said that, I was impressed by the clarity of execution and principle behind these flash cards. I worked through them for fun and, experienced as I am, still made the odd slip here and there! Just wish I'd had these when I was starting out on the instrument all those years ago.
