Rosette Ivory Fret Markers with Black Ring, pack of 9 dots
By: Asle BenoniVery easy to apply and looks professional. But one of the dots just fell off after a week. Maybe I did not clean well enough. Hope this time it stays on. -
SuperNail Swiss Silk Wrap Self-Adhesive, 40 Tabs (36 inches)
By: Asle BenoniVery nice silk mesh that sticks well to the nail. You need some good glue. I forgot to buy adhesive from SuperNail so I am using a good super-glue (super fast dry) first and then some super-glue gel. The problem is often that that broken nail is gaping so you need to stick them together. Silk wrap will not fix this since you need some surface like a plastic nail. But for minor repairs or together with plastic nail this is essential kit in your set. Compared to cheaper silk wrap the SuperNail silk wrap floats better on the surface. Just find some good super-glue that works.
There are so many tabs in the kit, I think this will last forever if you don't break your nails constantly! -
Strings By Mail Nail File and Micromesh Buff Kit with 3.5 inch File
By: Asle BenoniReally nice kit. Every classic player must have this. The 3.5 inch glass file is perfect size. Don't get the large file, you will break it easily. Everything in a small pouch. I usually skip the 3200 but go through all the grades. Depends how many days between. Just wonder how long the sheets last. The small foam block makes it easy to use every space on every sheet. And the glass file is great for smoothing out repair nails, glue and mesh. -
D'Addario EJ45FF Pro Arte Carbon NT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set
By: Asle BenoniI don't know why these did not work for me. Expensive strings so high expectations I guess. But just sounded only very normal on my Taurus 53. -
Aquila Perla Normal Tension Classical Guitar Strings 37C, Full Set
By: Asle BenoniI agree that the trebles are the best part of this set. These strings just worked from day one meaning I loved the mellow sound. And so easy to play. I really love these strings but after trying high tension maybe try their Superior Bass set. Not so long lasting as other more expensive sets but I can live with that. Great romantic sound on my Taurus 53! -
RC Strings DC10 JG Dynamic Carbon HT Guitar Strings, Full Set
By: Asle BenoniI have had no problems with more than normal wear on these after 3 weeks playing 30-40 min. every day. My first take ever on High-Tension strings so I was curious how my Taurus 53 would sound. It took some days to "break them in". I Notice the 1st string is very thin but that works very well and balanced. Once I got used to them they are easy to play on and I like the strong sound for my Roland Dyens pieces. I have to try other HT strings before I can compare. I have other favourite sets for "mellow" music but I would give these a try if you want to go from medium to HT. These are expensive strings so you expect more but I was not disappointed. -

DR Strings RCA-11 SUNBEAM Round Core Acoustic Guitar Custom-Lt 11-50
By: Lawrence HeagleI have been an acoustic guitar player for over 30 years. During all that time, my favorite strings were D'Addario light gauge phosphor bronze, but recently I put a set of DR RCA-11 Sunbeams on my Alvarez D-80 and it was a "jaw-dropping" experience. Since then, I have ordered multiple sets through Strings By Mail for my Martin D-18VS, my Martin 000-28V,and my oldest and most beat up Gibson J-45.
I have never had a set of strings that continue to carry their sustain and once stretched properly, stay in tune as well as the DR's. I am definitely a believer . . . in both DR RCA Sunbeams and in Strings by Mail. -
D'Addario Flat Tops Acoustic Guitar Strings EFT13 Resophonic Med 16-56
By: Ian BrownI have been using the round wound version of these strings (EJ42) for a long time, rating them better than other brand equivalents. I had always wanted to try these flat wound versions but at almost twice the price of the EJ42s I held off buying for a long time. Now I have finally tried a set and have to say that I am somewhat disappointed. Yes, they are less noisy for slide playing(especially if using a metal slide), as you would expect being flat wound, but I find them quite dull in tone compared to the EJ42s and the intonation on the lower thicker strings is noticeably less accurate. I have only tried them on one instrument so far, perhaps I should take them off and try them on another to see if my findings are replicated. -
Cordoba Folding Foot Stool
By: Daniel NiedererExtremely low quality; don't waste your money.
The materials used are cheap, the two support bars for the legs aren't glued in, the quality control is terrible, it's flimsy, comes with now bag, the tolerances on the screws are extremely loose, and, above all else, it's basically the same price as the K&M metal footstools, which are good products.
If you must have a wood footstool, I think the Ultra is a better choice, as at least is comes with a bag. (These footstool will not stay closed by themselves! i.e. no clip... a bag really make transport much easier to deal with if you have a lot of gear to cart around)
As a music major studying classical guitar at university, if I can save even one other person the disappointment I've experienced with this product, this little review will have been worth it.
Seriously, the K&M footstools offered on SBM are a much better buy. -
Savarez Alliance 541R - 1st string (e), normal tension .0244
By: Paul Joslinwell first of all, the best high e string I have found for my style of playing is the Daddario ej47 carbon. But they don't sell it as a single string and I really don't like the G in that set of trebles. I could probably live with the the b.
The Savarez high e (and maybe b) produce what I can only describe as the Spanish sound. Most brightness will be controllled by the condition of your nails.
But I think you may find a depth in these Savarez Alliance trebles that you may want to explore. -
Dogal Diamante Classical Guitar Strings Regular NR127B, Full Set
By: stefano RomeoBest quality guitar strings I ever tried.
Despite the price, the quality of bass strings is incredible bright and very responsive.
I absolute reccomend it.
they last 2 weeks when hard studying. -
Hannabach Goldin 725 MHT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set
By: Brad OdenathAfter trying multiple sets of strings for my guitar I had to give these strings a shot. I immediately fell in love with the tone they produced on my guitar. I wasn't able to fully justify the price and appreciate the sound until I replaced dead ones after 6 months of use with the strings I normally used to achieve good tone. Needless to say, these strings dead were more alive than any strings I put on my guitar. I switched back to these strings within taking them off and am officially a fan (of the dead strings and live strings).
If you are on the fence about trying these strings, I highly recommend you go for it. -
Cordoba Folding Foot Stool
By: Paul Joslinjust really nice. If you have one of those old Spanish foot stools they sold back in the old days with the metal stops that tear up your fingernails each time you touch them and move them or g-d forbid have to lower or raise, these Cordoba mostly wooden are realy nice. They fold up really tight if you need to travel, very economical, and pleasant to be around. Easy to adjust to your preferred height with many small adjustments that still keep it safe and balanced. If I was advising Cordoba, devote all you energy to the quality of these footstools, since for most of us that is our first introduction to Cordoba quality.
otherwise, A very nice foot rest which folds very flat for travelling, pleasant in it's mostly natural wood components and very easy to adjust without tearing up your fingernails. -
John Pearse 200L 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings Lt 12-53
By: Robert McArthurI have heard of John Pearse strings for a couple of decades but never tried them. I have a holy grail of a custom guitar and always was satisfied with whatever strings I used, though I have tried many on it including D'Addario, GHS, Martin and Elixir Nano. They all sounded great. But I just tried a set of John Pearse 80/20 lights given to me by a friend to try.
Wow. It turned my guitar into a grand piano. As great as the bass tones had been they gained magic with these strings. As great as the trebles had been they are now even fatter and more bell like. An incredibly superior string from my perspective. I just ordered ten more sets from Strings By Mail. -
John Pearse 100XL 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings Ex Lt 10-47
By: Robert McArthurI have a wonderful custom shop guitar that I've had for 20 years. My string odyssey has taken from D'Addario, to EXP, to GHS, to Martin lifespan and SP and then to Elixir Nano
8020. These Elixirs appealed initially because Taylor installs them from factory. I loved them... bright and long lasting. But recently I acquired a set of John Pearse 80/20 and put them on. OMG. These deliver what the elixirs did but with more beefiness, attitude and resonance. I just ordered ten more sets. These are my holy grail strings for my custom shop guitar.. -
Augustine Regal Blue HT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set 00200
By: Yin Wai PhangI've bought 10 packs of these strings from here, the value is really affordable and much more cheaper than the local retails in my country (Malaysia). Even with the shipping cost, it is still very reasonable! Really thankful with such offering. And the cheapest USPS priority option is linked to my local post office courier service, it has tracking service and courier service is way more reliable! I'm still not sure how USPS priority works, because most of online sellers whom are offering USPS priority will not be linked directly to my local courier service however will be only being shipped as local registered post at most. I really have no idea why despite the postage value is about the same, it is USPS priority anyway. Please keep this up to Malaysia shipping option as this is really helpful! And lastly, I've bought this strings getting ready for me Sakurai Masaki PC which will only reach me in another 2 months. I've tried a set immediately I've received it with my current so so guitar. But the improvement is huge compared to EJ45 Pro-Arté Nylon! I'm really happy with this strings and String By Mail offerings! -
Luthier Popular Supreme Set 20 MT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set
By: Radoslav RaykovI have been using this brand since 2005. Most of the time these strings deliver the best quality, as far as flamenco sound goes, and have a very long tonal life (the longest I've kept a set on is 4 months without degradation of sound quality!) My only reason for not giving 5 stars is the inconsistency in quality that started appearing after 2014. At some point I had ordered 5 bass sets and only 2 of them were any good - the rest felt much higher tension and had duller sound than normal. SBM was extremely kind to send me a free replacement set, although this is clearly not their fault. Their trebles lately also have had inconsistent quality. I noticed that if the nylon looks cloudy, typically sound is not as good as when it looks clear. Third string was buzzy too and sounded more plasticky. So these days I buy several sets and try to mix and match until I arrive at a good one. Definitely not cost-efficient, but on the other hand, 8$ for a pack isn't very expensive either compared to the 12 you pay for a Felipe Conde or the $18 you'd pay for a Hannabach. I really hope they get back to their original quality. These guys were simply the best on the market recently.
