Description: Sergei de Jonge is one of Canada’s premier luthiers. He studied under Edgar Monch and has built a tremendous number and variety of instruments over the years. This guitar is an 8-string concert model with a select, tight-grained cedar top, coupled with stunning CSA rosewood on the back and sides. The materials are first-rate, as is the workmanship. The guitar has a comfortable neck shape and plays beautifully for an instrument with a 72 mm neck width. The guitar has a lovely traditional tone character and the low basses are clear and focused. This guitar would be a great choice for those seeking to play Renaissance and Baroque lute music or Romantic music of Mertz, Coste, and others.
