GHS high tension strings with wound third

These strings are quite good tonally and the third wound is better than the solid nylon string found in most classical sets. The third doesn't resonate quite as long as the other strings due to its thin profile but it does sound like a wound string. This set is a bargain given its tonal qualities and price. The lows are solid and rich and the treble strings are bright enough and clear with good sustain. John

Q: On the GHS La Clasique guitar strings with the wound third, is the 3rd string wound in nylon or some other similar material?

A: Hello David,
The wound third uses the same material that the bass strings use; it is a metallic wrap that GHS refers to as "Winter Silver".
