D'Addario Electric Bass Strings

D'Addario strings date back to Salle, Italy, where Donato D’Addario listed his occupation on a baptismal document in 1680 as “cordaro” or string-maker.

Following an earthquake in 1905, members of the family immigrated to New York, where they continued to make strings. Today, with manufacturing bases in New York and California, D'Addario electric bass strings are some of our most popular. Among the many bassists who use these strings are Ric Fierabracci, Bryan Beller, Juno winner Chris Tarry, and Jonathan Noyce; there are scads of others.

Scale lengths are measured from the nut to the saddle:

Short Scale: less than 30"
Medium Scale: 30-33"
Long Scale: 34"
Extra Long Scale: more than 34"
