Dunlop Adamas Graphite 2 mm Guitar Pick, One Pick

A friend let me try his Dunlop Adamas Graphite 2mm pick and I was instantly hooked. I used to play with 1.5mm picks but noticed my guitar sounds much better with a heavier gauge pick. The shape of this pick also improved my picking accuracy. I would definitely recommend trying one.

I think "graphite blend" suggests these are graphite-filled nylon. A very thick, stiff, inflexible pick...translates to a loud, full, but bright tone. While this thick pick pulls out the lows, it also pulls out sharper highs. Tonally very bright, crystalline, sometimes brittle highs on some guitars. Can be expressive and cool, as you can vary attack to get dynamic volume changes, but it's a bit bright and noisy on the strings. Slightly scratchy and sometimes percussive on the strings. I can imagine getting ear-fatigue. So it's a pick I'll use sparingly.
I do understand why some people love them, as theyre a lot more tonally "extra" than nylon.

I've heard its attack described as "smooth" and "warm." Wouldn't say warm, but despite the brightness, the graphite does go quickly and smoothly off the strings.

Both arrived with excessive casting flashing sticking out all around the edges, affecting both comfort and tone. So the user has to spend time sanding it away. A surprising thing coming from Dunlop, who (outside of some of their nylon picks) usually burnishes and rounds edges.
