GHS ML7200 Pressurewound Electric Bass Strings 44-102 Medium Light

I am growing to love these strings more and more. I have them on a couple of my basses, and plan to put them on more. I'm basically a roundwound player, and these strings have much of the roundwound sustain but with less finger noise (but still more than a flatwound). They can still growl like a round, but are more comfortable to play. And while their tone is kinda between a round and a flat, it has a full, rich flavor all its own due to the Alloy 52 winding.

I enjoyed the feel and playability of these strings right from the beginning, but they sounded unusually thin. Other players who used these encouraged me to give them a chance to break in. They did, but it took a very long time--months, in fact. If not for that break-in length of time, I'd give them a 5, because now they sound great as well as playing great. I've bought a set for another bass now.

I used them years ago and didn’t care for them. I’m not sure what changed, them or me, but they are now working out great for my needs. Also, Strings By Mail is wonderful to work with. Great service, prices, and availability. As Arnold would say…“I’ll be back”!

These are just the right balance between half round and round wound.

These are the best strings I've ever used. They keep the right amount of tone and the least amount of finger soreness. Hats off to GHS!
