Smooth warmth, better sustanability basses. Trebels smooth the upper mids.

Pickup: G&L MFD. My favorite roundwound strings. The Pure Nickel used on these strings is super soft to the touch and gives off a great, full range response. Perfectly balanced warmth and brightness. Nothing about these strings took any "getting used to" and they allowed for effortless, distraction free, playing right out of the pack.

Excellent strings, very well balanced, they sound good forever. An excellent investment dollar for dollar. It occurred to me today, after taking a set off and putting on a new set of non-Elixir strings, that they provide a clarity with ornamentation that I just haven't found with other strings. I'm sold.

Elixir strings produce the full spectrum of overtones without sacrificing the fundamental and the low end, resulting in a bright, well balanced sound.

My guitar is a little bright, so I want strings to counter that. The Labella 2001s compliment I think, as I want a warmer string tone. The feel of Labella 2001s are also good; they feel thicker.

This particular Wagner Guitar is already naturally very bright, which is very good for unamplified ensemble playing and large concert halls in general. The Augustine Regal gives a lot of punch, while adding a lot of warmth as well.
