Year 1999 Instrument type Acoustic Builder / Manufacturer Jeff Traugott Instrument Model Custom Top wood Spruce Side wood Rosewood Back wood Rosewood Player Alex de Grassi StringsI use this mixed set on the Traugott and it's pretty specific for that guitar and the tunings that I use on it. I do that because, a) the guitar seems to realize its full sound potential that way; I think the combination of the particularly dense Brazilian rosewood Jeff Traugott uses and something about the bracing. And, b) I use that guitar for tunings with less tension (DADEAD, CGDGAD, DGDGAD, DADGAD) and the heavier gauges on strings 1-3 and 6 compensate for the lowered tension. This C3 might be useful to those using those kinds of tunings, especially with very dense woods or guitars that need a little extra push to get the top going.? -
