Strings Choice

I chose those strings because a version of them originally came with Maccaferri guitars, which Django Reinhardt played. Also, I like strings to be more even than most current sets. 10-45 is a good spread. The current trend is more like heavy bass strings and light trebles, which I could never use. 25.5 Scale (Kinman PUPs) Designed for lead playing, equalized string tension across entire set, less boomy with lighter gauge 5 & 6 strings, better sustain with wound G, warm and good for jazz and blues.

The Pyramid nickel 8s have great tone (much better than expected really), outstanding playability, stay in tune once settled in, and bend like madness when needed. Love the round core. They take a lighter touch as might be expected. Why are you working so hard?

I chose these gauges to tune my bass to CFCG, which gives me almost the range of a 5 string bass on a 4 string. The strings sound and play well, and the gauges I selected provide nice even tension across each string.

I play mostly clean, fast, and LOUD through a Twin Reverb or a Tweed Reverb, heavily modified Blues Junior. Urban gospel in 300+ seat venue. I need lots of punchy low end from the bass strings and nice sparkling Fender cleans from the treble strings. Been using GHS Nickel Rockers for several years. They're the right sound for a Strat and Tele.

Unbelieveable vibrato and sustain also used on Fender pawn shop offset Stratocaster for the same reason.

Maple neck and Rosewood fretboard with a GuitarHeads noiseless J-rail bridge pickup and OEM neck pickup. I love the tone from the Ernie Ball Flatwound Cobalts. They?re bright in tone, yet smooth and easy on the fingers. Cobalt flats combined with the brass nut, the tone is rich and quite unique. A touch of overdrive really makes it rock. My Bandmates really dig it.

I love the Worth Browns on this Uke! They create crisp and clear tones and don't have that 'cheap toy' sound you can sometimes get from more traditional nylon strings. They have a rosin-like texture that helps them sound crisp as you pluck them. I don't think I'll ever use any other strings on my ukes.

Smooth warmth, better sustanability basses. Trebels smooth the upper mids.

Pickup: G&L MFD. My favorite roundwound strings. The Pure Nickel used on these strings is super soft to the touch and gives off a great, full range response. Perfectly balanced warmth and brightness. Nothing about these strings took any "getting used to" and they allowed for effortless, distraction free, playing right out of the pack.
