The Savarez 500CJ get the best tone out of my Esteve 8 so far. Balanced tone across the range, solid but not overpowering bass, wonderfully sweet and ringing trebles with great sustain, great feel. Fantastic resonances and overtones.

The La Bella 2001 Medium-Hard tension strings are clear and crystalline through all registers. Great sustain and they stay in tune.

The timbre, tension, and general feel of these strings seem just right for flamenco--particularly for rasqueados. And they seem to last relatively long. Moreover, they are reasonably priced.

This instrument is a bit bright and the brown Worth strings give it a bit more body.

In general I like to use the Savarez Alliance strings because they give more clarity and a less mat sound than nylon strings. For the first string I do like to use nylon, such as the D'addario Pro arte, as the Saverez Alliance 1st strings tends to be to thin and sharp.

I chose those strings because a version of them originally came with Maccaferri guitars, which Django Reinhardt played. Also, I like strings to be more even than most current sets. 10-45 is a good spread. The current trend is more like heavy bass strings and light trebles, which I could never use. Here is a video of my playing "Take the A Train" on these strings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_wfWd9coaU

25.5 Scale (Kinman PUPs) Designed for lead playing, equalized string tension across entire set, less boomy with lighter gauge 5 & 6 strings, better sustain with wound G, warm and good for jazz and blues.

The Pyramid nickel 8s have great tone (much better than expected really), outstanding playability, stay in tune once settled in, and bend like madness when needed. Love the round core. They take a lighter touch as might be expected. Why are you working so hard?

I chose these gauges to tune my bass to CFCG, which gives me almost the range of a 5 string bass on a 4 string. The strings sound and play well, and the gauges I selected provide nice even tension across each string.
