The Murata GR-1 Guitar Rest combines comfort, stability, and a natural feel. Your guitar moves with you, making it seem like you’re using a foot stool — but without the lower back pain that a foot stool can cause.

With the 3-inch pole that’s included, the Murata GR-1 Guitar Rest (a.k.a. Aria Guitar Rest) provides leg lift of 4.5 to 6 inches. You can extend its range with replacement poles of 2 inches to 8 3/8 inches that are available separately in the Guitar Support Parts section of our website. With these poles, you can achieve a lift of 3 1/2 inches to 11 3/8 inches.

The molded plastic platform that rests on your leg is lined with fabric to prevent slipping. The support attaches to the guitar with four suction cups. Suction cup protectors are available separately.

A hinge between the pole and the base allows you to rake your guitar the same as a guitar that sits directly on your leg. The support has a fixed angle, but you can adjust the angle by moving the base on your leg for an approximate range of 40-50 degrees.

Unlike some other guitar supports, the Murata GR-1 Guitar Rest works equally well for left- and right-handed guitarists. It collapses to a compact size that fits in most guitar cases.

Our advice is to remove detachable accessories like this support from your guitar after every use. In addition, make sure your guitar’s finish has cured for at least six months before attaching any accessories.

Certain guitar finishes, like French Polishes, require suction cup protectors like the Kling-On SP-2P-C, which aids in suction cup strength.This product uses a light, non-permanent adhesion.
