By: Ian BrownI have tried these strings on two different guitars; a Recording King ROS-16(00 size body, solid spruce top) and a Washburn J62C(Jumbo single cut body, solid cedar top). I have to say that I was expecting better performance at $16.99 a set. The E6 string on both guitars went dull pretty quickly and the rest of the wound strings were not far behind. I changed them for Martin Lifespan SPs (same gauge, same 80/20 bronze mix, same Cleartone treatment) and the improvement(to my ears at least) was quite distinct. Perhaps it was the round core on the Martins as opposed to the hex core on the Cleartones that made the difference, I don't know, but I will be sticking to Martin in the future and saving $7 per set too.
