As advertised these strings do indeed provide greater highs and lows. The sound amazing. On the flip side I was at first put off by the extra tension on the high B and E but in time I became comfortable with them. This is my string of choice for my Larivee L03. I change them annually but the new ones sound the same so I can't say just how long these strings last but it's a very long time.
