RC Strings Victor Monge Serranito SRR70 HT Guitar Strings Full Set

As far as I can tell, there are two full sets of strings that come with carbon G at strings by mail. This, and the Savarez Cantiga Creation set. As indicated by the name, this is a signature set, which perhaps explains the somewhat odd feeling tension in some of the strings (particularly the very stiff feeling D string). Overall, an excellent set, but one should be forewarned.

I´m from Brazil and only buy strings here,the best site in this area.I loved this strings but now I know that you must wait a few weeks to do the definitive tuning.The A string has broken almost immediately.In general,the sound is very good,but i`m disappointed.I gave three stars because I bought this set many years ago with many other strings.I have a bag full of sets bought on stringsbymail and i will continue buying here.No doubt.This Royal Classic set deserves 4 stars if complete...

Because of the price and the 5 star review, my expectations were pretty high, but I was disappointed at 3 points. First, nothing is said in the ad about the tension, but these are definitely high tension strings....so if your guitar (like mine, an older 660 scale) does not respond well to high tension strings, avoid these. So, probably for this reason, I was disappointed by the feel and responsiveness. Second, the advertisement says that Royal Classic strings are pre-stretched, which led me to expect a quick settle-in. Not so! If anything, these were worse than normal. The A string in particular continued to stretch an abnormally large amount for a week or more, which I found pretty annoying. Third, the low E string was a big disappointment. All the other strings are way to the bright end of the scale, but the low E was way to the warm end. It was a real contrast compared to the others. It's almost like someone snuck it in as a joke. I didn't laugh however. On the good side, though, the strings (apart from the low E) are well balanced and very bright but not harshly so...but in my humble opinion these are not $18 strings.

I was given a free set of this strings, personally by Maestro Serranito, when I invited him to one of my festivals in Nicaragua, and I must say wow! I really like a lot the sound of the strings when I put them on my guitar. It was a really completely new sound, very balanced with rich tones. I have tried several strings like D'Addario and Savarez, and some combinations too, but so far, these have been the best strings I could ever play. I would really recommend them, you will like them. Thanks Maestro Serranito for these strings, I will continue to buy them.
