The following materials have been developed to address a critical need in the classical guitar community – music for student guitar ensembles that is level-appropriate and enjoyable for pre-college players to learn and perform. In my experience as a Suzuki instructor, classical guitar students as young as age eight, or older students with fundamental reading skills can benefit from this ensemble music. While these books do not constitute a specific reading method, they can be used as a practical means of enhancing those skills that would be developed by any comprehensive course of music literacy created, or adopted, by guitar instructors. These ensemble volumes have been presented at bi-annual Suzuki conferences in 2002, 2004 and 2006; since the publication of these works, they have been performed regularly throughout the U.S, as well as in Mexico, South America, Europe and Australia.
