Savarez 540J Alliance/HT Classic HT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set
By: Spyros GounaropoulosBright strings for my blanca. I already use them for 5 days now and the cripsy sound still remains. I like them a lot but next i'll propably choose normal tension. They get dirty very easily. -
Holiday Gig Book: Solo Settings for Classical and Fingerstyle Guitar
By: Robert AmesI just want to somewhat counteract the 1 star review given by the other reviewer. I am an intermediate guitarist and really enjoy most of the arrangements in here, especially for a beginner looking to improve.
He starts out with a particular relatively simple melody, and then adds harmonies to it, and then chords / more harmonies on top of that. So as a beginning guitarist, you can most likely make it through the first third, then use what you've learned for the second third, and finally struggle through and bring it all together for the last part.
It has a bunch of christmas / holiday standards, they all sound pretty good, and I have to say this was one of my favorite sheet music purchases.
As I've gotten better at the guitar, this book has relatively grown with me, and I've really enjoyed it. I can't speak to its utility as a "gig book" by itself where you're being paid to play (some of the songs are a bit short), but it's a great collection of arrangements, and I would gladly buy it again for $12 if I were to lose my copy.

Kikutani Ultra Light Weight Aluminum 4 Position Footrest GF-7
By: Trevor HansonIn my earlier review, I said I would follow up if the footrest didn't prove to be sturdy. It didn't. On its second use, the leg broke off the body. It was held on by a dinky rivet that on inspection was obviously not large or strong enough for the application. This footrest is a complete piece of junk, and a waste of $23. If it had a warranty I would return it, but there wasn't one. I am very careful and conservative with all my gear - I wasn't trying to jump on the footrest or use it for anything other than its main purpose. I have never had a footrest break before, including the first cheesy one I bought in 1969, which I still use. So I am surprised to see that another reviewer thought this product was well made. The crappy rivets he complains about are exactly what holds the legs to the base, and that's what failed. I was using the footrest in its lowest position, which might have been a factor in creating torque on the rivet (it might have lasted longer in a more upright position). So to repeat: It totally failed on its second use. -
Augustine Regal - 1st string (e) .0295
By: Jaime Augusto Penagos CarrascalI really love the sound this string produces: i think that's why Segovia loved to play with these strings. -
D'Addario Classic Rectified Nylon J3101 1st string e hard tension .029
By: Jaime Augusto Penagos CarrascalI really didn't like this reference of D'Addario. I thought it was sweet in sound, but it is really bright, and the string feel scratched. -
Cordoba Folding Foot Stool
By: Jonathan LozoyaI bought one of these and one of the legs ended up breaking. I had it replaced, only to find it break again. This time from the back hinge on the top. It says rosewood, but I think that's just what the color is called. After inspecting the pieces after it broke, it did not resemble the texture of wood. Anyways, my father ended up saving the hardware from this stool to build a better one with REAL WOOD..THANKS DAD! -
Kikutani Ultra Light Weight Aluminum 4 Position Footrest GF-7
By: Jonathan LozoyaThese footrests are tiny, but are built pretty good. They are very small and lightweight-which is good if you have to carry a lot of other stuff. I have bought many other other brands-these and the ULTRA brand seem to be good in terms of quality. Most of the other footrests seem to break where the (legs) braces cross each other (usually some sort of crappy rivet).
This footrest also comes with a little bag. -
Korg KDM3 Digital Metronome, Black
By: Jonathan LozoyaThis product is okay, but not the best. Its loud, but not that loud. I like the led light that blinks so that you can 'see' the tempo...red for beat 1 and green for beats 2 3 4
I like to use a TAMA RW105 because it is possible to adjust the click for 8th,16,quarter,triplet. It also allows accent on certain notes...and is LOUD -
CruzTOOLS GrooveTech Guitar Player Tech Kit
By: Jonathan LozoyaPretty good product. It includes screwdriver, flashlight, ruler, hex keys, cutters, thickness gauge, capo, and a string winder. I like the string winder, best one I've seen in a while.
The hex keys are color coded for easy find. gold are for metric and black for inch sizes.
It also has a pick pouch in upper right corner of case.
I am pretty satisfied with this product. It's a great price for the good quality tools you are receiving. It would be even better if they included some nut files.
A GREAT DEAL FOR THE MONEY. -
Rosette Tremolo Mute Practice Tool
By: Clemente RiveraMany may be skeptical about spending whatever kind of money for this mute when you can use a cloth or cut up a spare mouse pad to do the same. This mute is very worth it, all strings sound even, no buzzing or that annoying tinny sound and to my surprise you can also get a considerable amount of volume but not enough to defeat the purpose of muting. As for durability, the mute won't rip apart unless you do it on purpose and the pad won't damage your guitar's finish. I use it daily for my morning warm-up at school and when I can't find a place where I can practice freely. I'd say the only reason not to get this is if you plain out just don't need it. Forget the polish cloth and mouse pad and do yourself a favor and try it for yourself. -

GHS Americana Cryogenic Treated Acoustic Guitar Strings True Med 13-56
By: Hayes MasucciThese strings have made me a GHS fan again. I put these on a Martin HD-28 that I use for a lot of DADGAD work (especially the Windham Hill stuff)and these strings sounded like a combination of phosphor and 80/20, and kept a great tone even when tuned down. I just wish they made a 12 string set with this alloy. -
Kikutani Ultra Light Weight Aluminum 4 Position Footrest GF-7
By: Trevor HansonThis footrest is tiny, much smaller than a normal guitar footrest. Because it is so small, it feels precarious and tippy. It is certainly lightweight, as advertised, but the small profile was a surprise. It also feels rather fragile underfoot, which may simply be due to the light weight, but I am anxious about putting too much weight on it. I will start using it this week, and will post a follow-up review if it bends or breaks; but with luck it will hold up. I am giving only two stars because the size is such a disappointment. If the description had included dimensions I would have picked a different product; at $23 this feels like a waste of money. However, if you have small feet or don't mind a small platform, then this might be a good or possibly a great choice, depending on how rugged it proves to be. -
D'Addario EJ46C Pro Arte Composite HT Guitar Strings, Full Set
By: Marc ScordatoI agree these strings pair very well with Titanium Trebles. Composites have a bit more bite then traditional Pro Artes. Titanium Trebles have more volume and sustain then standard Pro Arte trebles. Superb set . -
D'Addario T46 Titanium HT Classical Guitar Strings TNH-3T, Treble Set
By: Marc ScordatoIf you love the feel and sound of traditional Nylon but desire greater volume and sustain Titanium trebles are a superb choice. I paired this with Pro Artie composites. Why Daddario dose not sell them together as a set is beyond me. Thanks to Strings by Mail it's easy to order a set. Love these strings. -
GHS MA2390 Muriel Anderson Signature Series Guitar Strings, Full Set
By: Richard CoxThese are excellent strings. All 6 strings are exceptionally well balanced in tone and volume. Intonation is superb throughout the fingerboard and the treble strings are wonderfully resonate. You will love this product! -
Kling-On Acoustic Guitar Removable Teardrop Pickguard, clear
By: Robert TownsIf your guitar has a nitrocellulose lacquer finish, you have to be super-careful to only put this on while you're actually playing. The vinyl material can interact with the finish, causing permanent damage. The instructions supplied with the product warn you not to leave it attached, but it's easy to forget.
Vinyl does not seem to interact with UV-cured finishes, such as on Taylor guitars. I don't know whether it affects French polish, but better safe than sorry.
*SBM Note: Based on the number of sales, there are very few poor interactions with finishes. Finishes can vary from luthier to luthier and can be unavoidable when the "secret formula" changes. As stated above and a good one, always be careful when applying, and in addition, it is recommended to remove when not in use. -
Martin SMA530, 1 Bulk Phos Bronze Acoustic Strings in zip bag ExLt 10-47
By: Michael CooperFirst impressions are - what a bargain! Intonation and balance are both spot on, and they sound as good as D'Addario to me when new on. I'll get back to you in another couple of weeks when I know how well they are lasting. -
Hannabach Buleria Flamenco Low Tension, Full Set
By: Spyros GounaropoulosDecent strings but not worth their money! You can find better strings in much lower price. Not good for flamenco! -
