Vihuela Strings
(sorted by Most popular)

The vihuela, which first appeared in the 15th century and enjoyed its greatest popularity in the 16th, is shaped much like a modern guitar. The instrument is fiendishly difficult to tune because its 10 frets are tied on the neck.

In marciachi music, the vihuela (vihuela mexicana) complements the lower-pitched rhythms of the Spanish guitar.
