Gianluca Fortino Classical Guitar Sheet Music for 3 Guitars

Everyone knows when they fall in love. And everyone loves a good mystery. Gianluca Fortino’s story includes both, at least as they have to do with guitar. He began studying the instrument at 11 in Switzerland, but it wasn’t until he moved to Italy that he says he developed the passion that would steer him through life, when he began studying with Marcello Serafini.

From 1998 to 2015 he was a member of Serafini’s guitar orchestra Sextha Consort. It recorded two CDs and performed numerous concerts. He also wrote music with Serafini.

Oh, and the mystery? In 2004, he formed a duo with his sister Sabrina, a clarinetist. He’s written music for the combination, which he says has a fascinating and mysterious timbre.

Here he eschews the clarinet or the massed guitar orchestra in favor of three additional guitars. Think of it as a combo rather than a big band. In Fortino’s hands – and now in yours – those 18 strings will provide the kind of sound you’ve been longing for. And there’s no mystery about that.
