The eclectic William Kanengiser has been called one of America’s finest classical guitarists. Which doesn’t go far enough, as his four CDs for GSP would attest, as they range from classical to jazz to Caribbean to Near Eastern styles. Throw in his two CDs for the Suzuki Guitar Advanced Repertoire Series and it’s clear his grasp and his reach extend far. He’s been a member of the guitar faculty at the USC Thornton School of Music since 1983 And is founding and current member of the prominent and prolific Los Angeles Guitar Quarter. The LAGQ is widely regarded as the world’s premier guitar quartet.

This is his first composition for a quartet of guitars. Which he’s obviously familiar with, as he is a founding member of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. Kanengiser is dedicated to teaching, as his tenure at USC, many master classes, and instructional videos attest, and this intermediate level composition will challenge but not overwhelm.
