Joaquin Turina Classical Guitar Sheet Music for 4 Guitars
(sorted by Name)

The celebrated Spanish composer and pianist (and critic!) melded the Andalusian music of his homeland with classical music through the lens of impressionist composers such as Debussy and Ravel, who he met while living in Paris. His piece “La Oracion del Torero” (translated as “The Bullfighter’s Prayer”) was composed for “laud” quartet in 1925. Although laud can be translated as “lute,” there is disagreement as to whether it was actually composed for lutes or mandolins.

Whichever instrument he originally had in mind, its versatility and and its popularity were such that it was arranged for string quartet, string orchestra and piano trio the following year. This version was arranged by Raymond Burley for four guitars.
