Samuel Coleridge-Taylor Solo Classical Guitar Sheet Music
(sorted by Name)

Although Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's father was a prestigious doctor and therefore had little time to devote any interest in the arts, he introduced Samuel to the violin at a young age, applying notes from his own childhood raised by musicians. Taylor became an astounding English composer and conductor who not only fought for the music of his culture, but also the rights of his people. He strongly participated in political activism against racism and discrimination, which during his time was extremely prominent. He was a progressive writer in his music and poetry, which caused other musicians to coin the term and refer to him as the “Black Mahler’. Touring the U.S. three times, he was eventually invited to the White House by President Theodore Roosevelt which was a bold move for the Black Rights movement.
