The guitar was in decline when the French guitarist and composer Napoleon Coste (1805-1883) was writing, so commercial publishers rejected his compositions. Undeterred, he paid to have them published himself.

The need to self-publish certainly doesn't reflect on the quality of Coste's work. We're sure you'll agree when you try some of his compositions.
