Josef Franz Classical Guitar, Solo Guitar Sheet Music
(sorted by SBM sort)

We’d like to tell you all about Josef Franz. How he came to be a guitarist, his background, how his compositions impacted the musical world. His likes, dislikes, favorite color – all of it.

Thing is, we can’t. Josef Franz is mostly a man of mystery, often mentioned only in passing in articles regarding other composers or performers. It looks like he lived from 1870-1940 and wrote somewhere around 85 compositions. But hard data is difficult to come by. Even Wikipedia, the font of all information (good, bad or inaccurate), doesn’t provide anything. Though it’s a great source for material about Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria.

As to these works, these solo compositions are arranged by Daniel Marx, about whom we can discourse. The German guitarist and arranger began playing the guitar at the age of seven. He subsequently studied in his home country before moving on to the USC Thornton School of Music, where he studied with members of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet.
