Jiji Kim Classical Guitar - Solo Guitar Sheet Music
(sorted by SBM sort)
Educator? Yes, with stints at Arizona State University and at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she is associate professor of guitar. JIJI as she styles herself has presented master classes and workshops at the Peabody Institute, Yale University, and Dublin’s National Concert Hall, among others. Performer? Extensively, with solo recitals at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Lincoln Center, 92nd Street Y and the National Art Gallery. As a concerto soloist, she has performed with the American Composers Orchestra, Kansas City Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and dozens of others. Eclectic? Well, she plays both classical and electric guitar (though so far as we know not at the same time). A dedicated classical artist, she works with various others on electric, including r&b and singer/songwriter/keyboardist Daniel Fears. Not content with the status quo, she both commissions and composes new works. She’s been recognized for all the above by the likes of the Washington Post, which cited JIJI as “one of the 21 composers/performers who sound like tomorrow.” And you can sound like tomorrow today with her music.
