Savarez Classical Guitar Strings

More than two centuries ago — in 1770, five years before the American Revolution began — Savarez produced its first strings in France. Today, the legendary company is a world leader in the manufacture of classical guitar strings that are consistently high quality and innovative.

Refer to this robust Savarez Classical String Tension and Diameter PDF Chart for full details. Note the diameters are accurate down to the 4th decimal and not rounded to the 3rd decimal as seen on the packaging and other sources.

Most Savarez sets mix combinations of either New Cristal nylon or Alliance carbon treble strings with Cantiga, Corum, or Classic bass strings. You can get details on our product pages.

Savarez makes lots of fantastic strings, but we have to especially note the Creation series. The first two treble strings in the sets are New Cristal plain nylon, the 3rd string is Alliance carbon, and the Cantiga basses are silverplated copper wound. The combination provides great tone: sweet and lyrical medodies, with the Alliance 3rd string providing a smooth transition from the silverwound basses to the clear trebles, and clear, crisp harmonies. Projection is strong, and they're very comfortable to play — especially the basses, which offer a perfect amount of flexibility.

The Creation series is available in three sets: normal tension, high tension, and a combination of normal tension trebles with high tension bases. We offer them in full sets, bass and treble half sets, and as single strings.

The Creation sets are extremely popular with our customers at Strings By Mail. Be sure to read the customer reviews on our product pages.
