Savarez 510MJ New Cristal/Alliance/Cantiga Hard Tension, Full Set

I have been using these Savarez 510MJ strings for years on my Cordoba GK Pro Negra guitar. As Savarez are OEM on my guitar, I have stuck with them. I've tried other brands of strings, but was never satisfied. Originally my guitar came with Savarez 500CJ strings, but the G-string was "wonky", sometimes sound a bit dead and sometimes a little buzzy. Switching to the 510MJ's solved the issue.

I've had my Cordoba GK Pro Negra guitar for ten years and have always used the recommended Savarez 500CJ strings that came on it from the factory. I tried a set of D'Addario strings (with approximately the same specs, but was disappointed with the sound. So I went back to the 500CJ's.

I've long been disappointed in the sound of the G-string, however, which always seemed to have the resonance a length of close-line. It also felt really thick when I would restring the instrument and fought me every step of the way during the restring.

The main concern was, however, the "dead" sound it produced. I was just assuming that was the trait of the guitar itself. I never gave much thought to the idea that it could have been the string. . . especially since that is the set that Cordoba uses (even today) from the factory.

Before taking my guitar to the shop, I decided to experiment with the strings. After watching several agonizing YouTube videos (most of them are so bad) on string choices, I decided to give the Savarez 510MJ "hybrid" strings a try, as they have an "Alliance" (carbon fibre) 3rd (G) string.

The other strings differ slightly (in a good way) from the 500CJ strings, but it's the G-String that is the most noticeable. It is so much more "alive" than the 500CJ G-string. It's also physically thinner, so goes on so much more easily than the from the previous set.

Aside from the improved G-string resonance and ease of install, the other strings just seem more "lively" (vague description, I know) than the factory recommended/installed 500CJ strings. These 510CJ just feel/sound more "balanced" (whatever that means).

I'm now a real fan of these 510MJ's and will stick with them for now. 😇😇😇

Great strings quite loud with really nice attack and balance between trebles and bass. They break in really fast. Cons- they don't have enough length for winding.
