With the publication of Volume II, Edizioni Il Salabue enriches the collection “Getting to know Violin making, Unpublished masterpieces from the Lucci-Marchini Archive”. This series was born thanks to an extraordinary family archives of the Lucci-Marchini collection.


This important publishing project, made possible with the help of Raffaaella Lucci and Rodolfo Marchini, was first presented several years ago with the first volume dedicated to the Lazio and Campania regions; the book obtained an immediate success with violin makers, instrument lovers and collectors.

The second volume presents works by great masters of the past of two other very important Italian regions: Lombardy and Piedmont. Considerable effort was made to put together 53 unpublished masterpieces by masters in Lombardy and Piedmont selected with historic and philological criteria.
