The particular mix of carbon G and B with a nylon E produces very even intonation and consistent tone across the trebles, eliminating dullness that can sometimes occur with nylon G/B strings. The projection is excellent and matches with the basses well. The thickness of the strings along with the high tension has a satisfying and firm feel. I had been playing normal tension strings before but will stick with high tension from now on, The d'addario Composite basses provide for a secure and firm feel as well with wonderful projection even when played softly. I noticed this set of basses in a few other custom sets so no secret there."
