  • NeckUp 6 inch Guitar Support, black

NeckUp 6 inch Guitar Support, black

I love this thing! I'm using it on both acoustic(2 different body shapes) and classical guitars. I don't have a french polish classical so I can't address that but for my needs it has been great.
I'm using it for prolonged practice without foot rest- feet flat on floor. Can find the right angle for mid-high (acoustic) and very high (classical). My only regret is i didn't get it sooner. Lower back relief and more relaxed shoulders...
  • Gitano Guitar Support

    Gitano Guitar Support

    By: Bonnie Stenstrom
My luthier had a concern about the pressure produced by the Gitano on the side of the guitar and so built a small horizontal bar that attaches with either glue or carpet underlay to the Gitano itself and because it (the bar) extends to the edges of the guitar side,it distributes the pressure more evenly. It's been very successful to date. If the Gitano itself comes off, I've found that a wipe of vinegar on the plastic square attached to my guitar, prior to re-attaching the Gitano works great. The bar has come off a couple of times, so I'm still working on that.

  • La Bella 2001 Flamenco LT Nylon Guitar Strings, Full Set

La Bella 2001 Flamenco LT Nylon Guitar Strings, Full Set

These strings aren't just for flamenco instruments, so don't be afraid to try these on your classical guitar. I have a new 660 mm Hippner Hauser that has a higher action than I'm used to. The action and scale length combined with my usual medium and hard tension strings made this guitar harder to play. The La Bella Flamenco Light Tension set feel soft and are easy to bend. They also sound very very nice and stabilize quickly after a restring. Recommended.
  • Abel Armrest Original - Armauflage - for classical or acoustic guitar

Abel Armrest Original - Armauflage - for classical or acoustic guitar

    By: Joseph Hapgood
I first heard about the Andreas Abel armrest on the Delcamp classical guitar forum. A user on that site shared his experience and it sounded like a good tool to improve right hand comfort and ergonomics. So I contacted Matt with Strings By Mail and he was kind enough to work with Andreas Abel to import them into the U.S. and make them available at Strings By Mail. I have used mine for several hours now, and it is very comfortable! It also helps place the right hand in a good position to produce a good tone. I can't imagine playing my guitar without the Abel armrest now!

Titanium trebles feel like nylon but with a bit more power and sustain. The bass set is easy to the touch and warmer then the standard composites they replaced. Daddario strings last a very long time. I've tried many other strings over the years but always come back to Pro Arte's. The Dynacore is the best set yet.

KNA NG-1 Piezo Pickup for Classical or Flamenco Guitar

    By: Marc Scordato
Truth be told, I purchased this pickup because it was cheap. I was having a much more expensive pickup installed in my steel string and thought I would get an inexpensive pickup on the classical on the off chance I should plug in. I love the sound of this pick up, It sounds far better then the expensive one in my steel string. In fact the shop that installed both pickups was so impressed they hooked up with Kremona and became a distributor.

I have a Montalvo flamenco guitar and an EsteveGr7 guitar. Tried these on the Montalvo and took them off after two days. The Montalvo needs punchy bass since it tends to be a bit light/thin sounding. I'll try putting them on the Esteve that is a bit bassy and should be a better match. So far my favorites are Hannabach--Carbons on the top and their "custom" basses on the bottom.

Like a Volkswagen :)reliable, reasonably priced and you know what you get. I have tried a LOT of strings, believe me. These strings are always in tune all over the fretboard, sound and sustain is good - trebles maybe a bit on the mellow side - basses a bit bright but not too much. I use these strings for all my nylon stringed guitars - even my darling: A Ramirez 1a from the early 70'es.

Oasis GPX Carbon - 3rd string, Normal Tension .033

This string was my last ditch effort for an unwound 3rd/G string. Surprisingly, it works. None of that non-musical "tubby" tone. It inspired me to replace my 2nd and 1st string with GPX Carbon trebles.

I've been using these string since practically the day they came out. The lack of that annoying "string squeek" is amazing. These strings are balanced and comfortable. They are great in the studio. I use them on all 8 guitars I own. Over decades of playing in 4 set per night cover bands I've only had 2 break on me ever. My gigs have included country, jazz, rock, pedal steel style bends, pop, R&B, and on and on. If I play 300 gigs a year or 50 I only change my strings once a year as these hold up, retain their tone and stay in tune. Among every musical product I've ever spent $ on these strings are the only thing I couldn't live without.

OK, I have been playing for years. I usually do not write review, only songs. These strings are amazing. I play, and record others, and my other strings go flat instantly, these have been on for ever, and everyone that play them asks if they are new... have been on for months with tons of hands touching them for hours at a time. Thank you Dean for the best strings I have ever used. BD,,,Check out my Utube videos guitarguy1.0
  • D'Addario Humidity and Temperature Sensor

    D'Addario Humidity and Temperature Sensor

    By: Yannaki Arrizza
    "INEFFECTIVE & NOT ACCURATE"

I recently purchased this Planet Waves humidity & temperature sensor for use in my studio and within my guitar case to protect my guitars from the extremes that may compromise their structural integrity (ie: cracking or shrinking of wood due to dryness and other damage)

Needless to say, I was left disappointed in this particular item. I have tested it under certain conditions to assess its effectiveness and accuracy in reading temperature & humidity levels...Including placing it inside my Humicase Protege guitar case (with humidity pods activated) - and compared it side by side with an analog thermometer and humidity reader -

The Planet Waves sensor gives erratic and weird readings....which do not agree at all with the analog readings - (they contradict) - at best, the Planet Waves sensor is at least several degrees off (by as much as 8 degrees) - and the humidity readings are all over the place - So I put it to the test, placing it in my Humicase Protege guitar case...and left it in there for 3-4 hours - as well as placing the analog reader in there - The result after opening my case was:

    - The analog reader detected a temperature of 72-73 degrees F. with around 58-60% humidity (within safe limits) --- while the Planet Waves reader, was displaying 78 degrees F. and a humidity level of 38-35%, sometimes jumping to 43% and back down - Which HAS to be an erroneous reading - (my guitar case has the humipods activated and working) - I also tested the ambient room temperature and humidity....readings again were way off -

Overall, I am disappointed with this product (considering it is a "Planet Waves" product, is quite bad) - I've also read reviews from others whom have said it is a horrible product and after trying it out myself, I guess I would have to agree - Please, Save your money for something that actually works - AVOID THIS ONE! -

(note: there are other hygrometers on the market that also include the features this one has, and more)
  • EFEL guitar support, advanced

    EFEL guitar support, advanced

    By: Mark Bondonese
This is my first guitar support and I am extremely pleased with it. The instructions that come with it are very limited so it took a bit of trial and error to place and use properly.

On the guitar's raw finish (french polish) the suction cup did not work well. I applied a Kling-on suction cup protection sheet to the guitar where I attach the support to the guitar and now the single large suction cup holds the support in place without any issues whatsoever. I can leave the support on for the entire day without a single failure. I have had no need to use the accessory belt.

The support can be taken on and off very easily. I simply remove the whole thing when putting it in the case.

I do use the extension part that comes with the advanced kit. The extension part is slotted and seems to allow the guitar to slide along the slot into a natural position.

I love playing the guitar without a footstool. I feel like I have a better and more consistent neck angle. I also feel like my breathing is much more natural and relaxed with both feet on the floor.

Tennant | Pumping Nylon Int./Adv. Repertoire for solo guitar

I recently purchased this book, and I like it very much. I am an intermediate level classical guitar player. For quite a while, I have been looking for a book which combines an interesting repertoire with a sound technical/pedagogical component. This book, for me, seems to fit the bill. It contains some pieces with which I was already familar and dearly love(Frog Galliard (Dowland) and Las Folias Espagna (Giulani), for example). In addition, it contains a framework associated with each piece outlining the technical challenges addressed in the piece. I am very much looking forward to working on these pieces (with my teacher) over the next several months. I heartily recommend this book for anyone in a similar situation.

I've been through a lot of different strings looking for a good balance and balanced highs and lows...less tension to boot. These strings are definitely tops for my larrivee om. Very very surprised they are not more recognized in the top recommendations.
I play fingerstyle and easy strumming.
