Pyramid Sterling Silver Super Classic HT Guitar Strings, Bass Set

    By: Arthur Babayev
One of the worst basses ever. They sound a little better than a rope, at least on my guitar. It is hard to add anything more to this - very dull and ropy sound. The Pyramid Double Silver (carbon HT) are much better strings.
  • Oasis OH-19 Nail Shaper for Guitarists

Oasis OH-19 Nail Shaper for Guitarists

    By: Michael Root
These are the best buffers I've ever found, it's hard to explain but it's like sandpaper on cushions. It automatically rounds out the nail, gives you good tone easily. The title is misleading however, they're not useful for shaping too much, you'll need a stronger file or sandpaper for that.

So far five stars, reserving judgement until they die. I am using these on a flamenco guitar and previously I was enamored with the D'Addario carbons (pro-arte) because of the rich, complex basses coupled with the carbon trebles I prefer for brightness. The LaBellas are similar, but not as complex sounding, and a little bit flatter sounding than the D'Addarios, and for flamenco I think I prefer this sound, but love both. I've tried many brands and these two i prefer over the others. YMMV.
  • Aranjuez Classic Silver 300 MT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set

Aranjuez Classic Silver 300 MT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set

    By: Paul Watson
In 1977 I purchased a guitar from HascalBHaile that was owned and played by Chet Atkins. I asked what strings were on it. He said Aranjuez. AR300. I've used them ever since. They feel great and are long lasting with much volume, sustain and vibrato. I've kept this a secret until now. Aranjuez strings are simply the best.
  • Visesnut Adjustable Hard Shell Classical Guitar Case

Visesnut Adjustable Hard Shell Classical Guitar Case

    By: Celeste McClain
Excellent case. Really will fit any guitar, including elevated fingerboards. Very lightweight and extremely protective: I've dropped mine (accidentally!) a few times and the guitar has been completely unharmed. Nice small footprint, similar to a BAM, if not smaller, and weight is similar. Keeps humidity in, the locks seal the case tightly. The only "drawbacks" are that the case does mar relatively easily (while staying protective), so recommend the case cover highly. It fits beautifully and provides extra insulation for extreme temperatures. Also the gear box is a bit smaller than typical, but there's room enough for a few small accessories. "Backpack" straps work very well both with and without case cover, a feature I love. Well worth it!

I really like these. Have used Savarez with the Ag wound 3rd before and like Hannabach Goldins on the 1st and 2nd, but for 3 through 6 these are the best yet. And the red servings on the ends are especially classy !
  • Galli Genius Carbonio GR90 HT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set

Galli Genius Carbonio GR90 HT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set

    By: Alan Emerson
These have fast found a place among my few favorite sets of strings. The trebles are very strong and true sounding. The intonation is very dependable and they generally stay in tune very well after a couple of days. In contrast to nylon trebles, the transition between basses to trebles is seamless, with the G string being focused and with good projection. Overall, the set is very well balanced, although I have experimented with different basses on top of these carbon trebles, with good results, LaBella 2001 Hard Basses seem to be a good compliment. But really, these basses are more than adequate and the set can really stand on it's own. They are a good balance between stiff and flexible. Finally, the price makes this set one of the very best values out there. You could spent 3-4 times as much and not really step up much farther in quality. If you change strings fairly often, this set could last you at least a month of solid playing.
  • Elixir 12050 Polyweb Coated Electric Guitar Strings 10-46

Elixir 12050 Polyweb Coated Electric Guitar Strings 10-46

    By: Ian Hodges
I used these strings on a few electric guitars. The polyweb set really does last a long long time with no change in tone BUT the tone is not as bright to begin with as conventional electric strings. They sound like conventional strings that have been played for a few hours and have lost that initial brightness. If you like that sound, these strings will work well. Or if you are one of the unfortunates with "acidic hands" or whatever condition it is that "kills" strings within an hour of playing, these strings will make your life much better. I do not have this particular curse, and I really love the snap and brightness of new conventional strings, so I do not use these polyweb strings for gigs or recording. If there is a long period where a guitar will not be used for gigs or recording, these strings are a great choice for practicing at home or rehearsals. They do not go dead, even after many hours of playing. The coating does not change the feel of the string much. I have heard complaints of the coating unravelling, but I have never seen this on my guitars. That probably happens as a result of Pick scrapes, or the use of metal guitar picks or picks with a sharp edge.
  • D'Addario Balanced Tension Electric Guitar EXL110BT Reg Light 10-46

D'Addario Balanced Tension Electric Guitar EXL110BT Reg Light 10-46

    By: Ian Hodges
I use these strings on a Carvin Bolt guitar (Strat style, single coils), and they feel great. Nice bright clear sound, perfect intonation, last very well. I prefer the feel of the balanced set to the regular light gauge, which are also excellent strings. An interesting idea, to try to balance the string tension across the set, and it works for me.
  • D'Addario EJ45 Pro Arte NT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set

D'Addario EJ45 Pro Arte NT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set

    By: Ian Hodges
For a lightly built guitar (Hauser or Torres style) these strings will work well, for a more rugged build the Hard tension strings will probably be better. Quality control and intonation are superb in this line of strings. Those who find them dull should probably try the hard tension set - the normal tension strings are probably not "driving" the top of the guitar. I find these strings to be "neutral" in the best meaning of the word, in that they allow the qualities of the guitar to come out. A great string type to start with, as a baseline for comparison when sampling various string brands. And we all go through at least 6 brands before finding our ideal strings....
  • D'Addario EJ44 Pro Arte XHT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set

D'Addario EJ44 Pro Arte XHT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set

    By: Ian Hodges
I was warned by a guitar teacher in my early days of study to avoid extra hard tension strings, since they put too much pressure on the top/bridge (he played a very lightly built Hauser-style guitar). But I noticed recently that the Hannabach strings I was using on my Paulino Bernabe Imperial guitar actually have greater overall tension than this D'Addario set, so I decided to try them. This beautiful Spanish guitar only responds well to strings with high tension. These strings are fantastic on this guitar - all of the great qualities of D'Addario strings are present (perfect intonation, even response, smooth trebles that last well), and they sound great on this guitar. Powerful punchy basses and warm, clear trebles, perfectly balanced. Wonderful! After many years of using the normal and hard tension D'Addario strings on my other guitars, I am truly delighted to find that this set works on my best guitar.
  • Kikutani Ultra Light Weight Aluminum 4 Position Footrest GF-7

Kikutani Ultra Light Weight Aluminum 4 Position Footrest GF-7

    By: Mark Bradlyn
This is a wonderful footrest. I have owned this footrest for nearly a year and it has proven to be very sturdy. Yes, it is lightweight, but it is not at all flimsy, and its small size is no disadvantage, unless perhaps you wear a size 12 or larger shoe. It is certainly no more "tippy" than any of the other footrests I have owned over the years. I also like the range of heights, which are more comfortable and useful for me than those of the larger heavy steel footrests (I own two of these heavy models, and I have completely stopped using them in performance in favor of this one). When I arrived at a rehearsal today I found that I had left the footrest in the case of my other guitar... So, I'm ordering another one right now so I can keep one in each instrument case. Thank you Strings By Mail for having these footrests available!

Luthier Popular Supreme Set 20 MT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set

    By: Peter Rawkins
I tried a set of these on my DiCarlo nylon jazz & found the G string played more than 10 cents sharp at the 12th fret - very disappointing - this shouldn't happen in this day & age of computer controlled machinery - the other 5 strings played in tune - advised Luthier by email but no response.

  • Dogal Diamante Classical Guitar Strings Regular NR127B, Full Set

Dogal Diamante Classical Guitar Strings Regular NR127B, Full Set

    By: Alan Emerson
These strings drive me crazy. In particular, the G string does not stay in tune, and it has serious intonation problems, to the point where it makes this set unplayable. I will never buy these strings again. The basses sound fine in general but the trebles are nothing special.
  • NeckUp 5 inch Guitar Support, Brown

NeckUp 5 inch Guitar Support, Brown

    By: Melvin Hughes
I saw Eric Skye using one of these supports with his Santa Cruz signature, deep bodied 00 guitar. After trying every manner of support offered here, watching Eric play using the NeckUp made me think I had finally found an alternative to using a foot stool or a shoulder strap.

After receiving my NeckUp, I began trying it with everything from a very deep bodied 12-fret, slope shoulderd H&D dread to a 1902 Washburn Parlor guitar. With the large bodied guitars, I found that playing in a classical position with the NeckUp resting on my left leg worked great. With the smaller guitars, it can go on either leg, left or right and still hold the guitar at an extremely comfortable position, all while sitting with both feet flat on the ground!

I like them so much that I now have three NeckUp supports, two 5 inch and one 4 inch. I can not recommend them highly enough if you have been looking for a very comfortable, functional, playable solution to playing while sitting without going through the contortions of a foot stool.
  • Dogal Maestrale Classical Guitar Strings Reg Tension NR168B, Full Set

Dogal Maestrale Classical Guitar Strings Reg Tension NR168B, Full Set

    By: Bob Towle
I ordered a set the moment I knew they were available. I've had them on my concert classical for over a week now and have concluded that these may possibly be the best strings I've ever played on. They compliment my style perfectly, they sound great, look great, and are incredibly responsive.

The manufacturer included an additional Dogal Diamante E(1) string in the event I wasn't pleased with the blue Maestrale E(1). I can't imagine why I would change out any of these strings.

Had some issues with the felts on mine. Contacted strings by mail and a gentleman named Matt got back to me within a few hours and went above and beyond to make things right.
