Excellent strings. The tension an gauge are similar to D'Addario high tension. The basses are flexible in a comfortable way, and last a long time for me, even compared to coated strings. The trebles resist scratching for a good time, too. The transition between third and fourth strings is very even. No intonation problems. I tried one set and loved it. I'm ordering a few more sets now, and hoping they will be consistent too. I'll post another review after I've gone through a few sets.

I've tried LaBella 2001 HT, D'Darrios J45, J46, and Luthier 30 on my new "Reyes" model blanca but the 20's give just the right balance of tension, punch, timber, sweetness plus a little of that pearcing metallic sound we all look for as a flamenco style player. If your guitar has the 7 fan bracing but still light weight à la DeVoe y Reyes style blanca guitarras, then give this one a try. Dullness starts about 3-4 weeks if you play about two hrs total a day.

Well to start off I have been using these strings for years and have tried most bass strings available on the market. I CANNOT use anything else. I was using the mediums on my four string basses , but they were too heavy and stiff to accomplish the more complex slap and thumb pattern I play. the lights were just too thin sounding. These are the PERFECT medium. They have great tone to fill out a phat groove, but when it comes time to solo they don't' feel to sluggish. SR2000s have amazing sustain, clarity, and the most full range sound I have ever heard out of a bass string. Because of they're lower tension, you have less pull on your neck so you can actually drop your action lower if you want. The taper winding help with the saddles too. Also they feel like a Nickel string, but they are a steel string. I have always hated the feel of other steel strings. Just too rough and grabby for me. To get that smoother nickel feel out of steel is truly amazing. I use these on an Ibanez SR500, and a passive Fender fretless Jazz with a custom Warmoth neck, and Bartolini pickups. If you are looking for a great balanced and go anywhere string, THESE ARE FOR YOU. I will say that more people NEED to be pushing these because I have NEVER seen these in ANY music store in the country I have been into. Including Guitar Centers. That is a shame my friends. I suffer from severe upper extremities health issues. This is the best extra soft tension string set that kept me playing with a high quality sound.

Great setting in an auditorium w/an incredible sound (Not Dry & Dull like most of the other Mel Bay Videos) Excellent camera work! This is some of the best playing of classical guitar you'll ever see on video. Buy it!

One of the best Strings to guitar!

The Allan Willcocks Etudes are a self-confessed hoax perpetrated by Tilman Hoppstock.

Had I known this fact prior to ordering, I would never have purchased this disc.

these strings defintly live up to the hype very responsive and powerful. They feel good and stay in tune well give them a try you won"t regret it and the price is a few dollars cheaper than in the stores.

First let me say, I usually play Savarez hard tension or D'Adarrio hard tension with rectified nylon trebles. When stringing this set, I was amazed at how unfexible they seemed...had to use a needle nose to pull the trebles into a proper tie. The basses are like bridge cable ......no elasticity. When I played them, they sounded great, but were HIGHLY unplayable. Very unkind to the playability of The upper fretboard. Perhaps their lower tensions do not have this problem, but I cant even imagine hoe difficult their extra hard tensions are to play. I took these strings off my guitar the day after I put them on. Beautifully made, but highly unplayable.

Nice set of strings they have a rich full sound and feel good under your fingers. Easy to install no slipage and they tune up quickly.

I tried many sets of strings before deciding on La Bella 2001's. For the price, I've found them to be remarkably consistent and durable. They're clear without being too bright. My guitar isn't very loud but these strings project with good tone more than other strings I've tried. I'm always open to trying new sets. However, I always return to these before performances because I know the quality of the product I'm getting.

Do not buy these strings if you are hoping to play on polished trebles. They are in fact scratchy, like Savarez's "rectified" trebles....

I just recieved that kit, and I am soooo satisfied!!!! I love the file, it is efficient even if it seems smooth and fine. And the micromesh are fabulous. I have acrylic false nails, and it is extremely difficult to get a good tone out of them. They are not forgiving, the least flaw in their shaping and the sound is horrible. Those mesh make them sound fantastis :-D

These strings provide a very nice, neutral (neither bright nor mellow) sound on my guitar (Kenny Hill Hauser '37). They have lasted for more than five-hundred hours of playing, and are probably good for several hundred hours more before I change the bass strings; it's nice, of course, that D'Addario makes sets of bass string available. I don't hear any difference in tone between picking at the bottom of the sound hole and picking at the top; if I did, I would be giving these strings five stars.

Most of the pieces that I play are transcriptions of Renaissance lute pieces, so I want a string with a crisp, clear sound, and I'm willing to sacrifice a big, "melting" tone to get it. These strings provide it, at a good price. They also provide a nice contrast in tone when I move from the bottom of the sound hole to the top. The only disadvantage is that they don't last as long as many other string brands/types.

On my 1971 Ramirez 1a there is a wide choice of strings that will really sound good . That being said , I really like these trebles which are resonant and not "dry " or shrill in any way . Sonorous with a bounce to the touch which I prefer to strings with more tension . A lovely set of trebles .
