  • Kling-On Guitar Stabilizer - Improved design

Kling-On Guitar Stabilizer - Improved design

    By: Kam Bhagia
The maker claims it will not damage finish on sides/back. I haven't tried to remove it so I don't know if that's true. It's less of a worry for me as my two factory guitars have a pretty heavy lacquer finish anyway. That being said I really like how it makes my guitar stay put and adds needed stability for me. I'd love to get one for my second guitar if they'd ever come back in stock again.

D'Addario EJ46 Pro Arte HT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set

    By: Spyros Gounaropoulos
When i first put EJ45 on my guitar the sound was blank and lifeless. I tried EJ46 and something happened and a full sound with crispness enjoyed my ears. I was not a big fan these D'Addario's plain strings but now i think i'm going to prefer them. Cheap, reliable, nice on my fingers and have the right tension. That's why a lot of people paray for these strings. 5 stars!
  • Hannabach Carbon Trebles MHT Classical Guitar Strings, Treble Set

Hannabach Carbon Trebles MHT Classical Guitar Strings, Treble Set

    By: JAMES GODING
The Hannabach carbon G string is a definite improvement over conventional strings. It reduces the "tubbiness" that is usual on G strings. Intonation is satisfactory.

The Hannabach carbon top E string sounds great but seems to have a problem with intonation. The 12th fret is slightly flat, and the 14th fret is seriously flat. This seems to be because the carbon string is thinner than a regular nylon string and therefore more elastic and hence its tension does not increase as much as a regular string when it is fretted. The problem could probably be overcome with a bridge that has each string individually adjustable, but this is rare on classical guitars.

Dogal Venetian Classical Guitar Strings NR88 Soft Tension

The trebles are not rectified and have a kind of modern taste.
They look or sound like Augustine Imperial.

The basses are special. They produce very slow and mellow tone.

The tension is good for romantic guitars.

Fascinating. The other reviewer had exactly the same experience. Sounds great, but started to fray on the 2nd fret after a week or so. I can't decide whether to buy more of these and replace them frequently or use one of the other wound thirds.

Aquila Classical Banjo Medium All Nylgut 5B, Full Set

These take a couple of days to stretch and settle, but sound bright. However, I need to re-file the slots in the bridge, because these strings are thicker and keep popping out of the bridge's narrow slots (originally cut for steel). To do that, I plan to buy some round-edge nut files, but can't tell what width slots I should go for. There are no indications of the string diameters on the package or at this page. Can anybody help out?

I use these on my acoustics. A so-called neutral sound that is anything but neutral: addictive.

The new La Bella (Improved Trebles) have a big change. These strings have perfect intonation, better flamenco sound and I'm amazed by their progress. La Bella factory sent me a black nylon (improved trebles) set just to try them out and i found them 100% better than the old ones.

A MUST set for every flamenco guitar player!

I recently bought these because of a lot of strong recommendations on the DelCamp forum. I was not disappointed. I'm going to order a couple more sets. Absolutely perfect intonation. Sweet sound, plenty loud for my guitar and they settled in quicker than any treble set I've ever tried. And I've tried a lot of them. I'll probably never stop experimenting with different strings until I've tried them all, but for now these sound best on my Pavan 30. And what a great price.

Just pust this set of strings on my Cordoba GK Studio Negra. OMG! The guitar's sound was transformed. The basses are bassier and the trebles are bell like with sustain out of this world. I really like the high tension and thinness of the treble strings. Some had stated it takes some getting used to but not for me, it was like these strings were made for my fingers. I absolutely love this set. I think everyone should try these strings before any others.

Strings By Mail Crystal Glass Nail File, 3.5 inches

    By: Shawn Brock
I have tried most every kind of nail file being sold today. Nothing stands up to this product!!! I'm blessed with thick and healthy nails which seem to do a number on most files. In the past I have spent as much on nail files in a month as what this product costs.

If you play with nails this product is absolutely a necessity. Once you use it you will never go back! It works as promised. You won't have any sharp edges or jagged points on your nails when using this file, unlike other conventional files. I was lightly filing/ buffing my nails daily, and doing a complete filing once/ twice a week. On a complete filing I would spend 30 minutes or more filing and buffing. With this file I spend 5/ 6 minutes on my heavy/ full service filing.

This file will take the nails down a lot quicker than any product you have ever used, and as I stated, it won't leave your nails sharp or jagged. Also as SBM states, this file will not harm repairs and will last you forever!

Just be sure to go slow the first time you use it! I'm telling you this thing works fast!

This is by far the best investment I have ever made in nail care. It should be rated 10 stars!

  • Luthier White Nylon MHT Classical Guitar Strings, Treble Set

Luthier White Nylon MHT Classical Guitar Strings, Treble Set

    By: Shawn Brock
I tried these on my Salvador Castillo negra in place of my normal D'Addario J46C.

    Bad thoughts:
The Luthier White Treble G is perhaps the most disappointing string I have ever put on a guitar. This string would be a candidate for a replacement string for a cejilla, but not for use on a guitar.

The G feels like a slack rubber band under your fingers and has no tone at all. It is so thin that you will be hard pressed to distinguish it from the B string. As a matter of fact, you can use the thing for a B with no problems, it will tune up just fine and won't feel overly strong under your fingers. At first I thought that my set was missing a G and only had 2 B's and an E, but after getting out the micrometer I could tell that there was in fact what was supposed to be a G in the package. To some up my thoughts of the G, I would say powerless and lifeless.

    Good thoughts:
The B and E are a different story. If you don't like carbon fiber, but you are looking for a brighter string, this may be the one for you. Its my thoughts that these strings aren't as musical as D'Addario, but they do pack a brightness not found in most nylon strings. Over all they feel pretty good under the fingers and seem to play in tune. They are a little 1 dimensional in sound, but its my opinion that "tone colors" isn't a important factor in flamenco as they are in classical, and these strings are mostly geared for flamenco players.

The Luthier White Trebles seem to settle in quickly and begin holding tune more rapidly than D'Addario and other popular strings. When I first put them on they seemed a little dull, but they brightened up within minutes. I decided to leave them on my guitar for a few days before putting my J46C trebles back on, just to see how I truly felt about them. So far I must admit that I like them pretty well. They for sure are brighter than D'Addario in this case. They don't have quite as much power and guts perhaps, but they will give you more of a blanca like sound/ boost in brightness if you need it. They are good for making your picado stand out.

Its a shame that the G string isn't better. If it had more mass/ tension, I would consider using the complete set on my negra all of the time. As it stands though I have J46C's on except for the B and E. So in the end I don't know if I'll use these strings all of the time. I don't have a problem mixing basses and trebles, but I would end up spending about $12 per set to use this combination.

The Luthier White Trebles are priced good here at Strings By Mail. So if you are looking for an experiment, they may be worth your while. Just save back one of your normal G strings in case you are as disgusted with the G in their set as I am. Perhaps if you don't "dig in"/ play hard, the G may work for you. As I said this is a review based on my playing and trying the strings on one guitar. Even with the bad G, I still have to rate this set pretty high.

I can't understand why these strings have so many fans. For practice are ok, but only for that. I heard that they have a good intonation. Agreed, but after two days i couldn't hear my G string (was so dull) and i needed give a maximum power from my fingers just to hear something interesting from this.

This product works. I saw dramatic increase in growth rate as well as strength/ flexibility of nails in about a month. I've tried other products, all of which did nothing. This product simply does what it is supposed to do.

    By: Darren O'Neill
Although the packaging doesn’t clearly state it, I am certain that the bass sets for the new Dynacore series are the same strings used in the Composite series; the diameters and tensions are identical. The trebles are clearly labeled as being from their Titanium series. In which case, save yourself a bit of money and purchase a set of Normal Tension Titanium Trebles (T45 - $2.95) and a set of Normal Tension Composite Basses (EJ45C - $6.15) for a grand total of $9.10. The Normal Tension Dynacore Set (EJ45TT) sells for $10.99 here at SBM. You’ll save $1.89 per set.

  • Hannabach Titanyl 950MHT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set

Hannabach Titanyl 950MHT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set

    By: Alan Hahn
The 5 stars are for the trebles. I haven't tried a full set of the Titanyl, but I'm about to.

This company continues to impress and I've tried strings from all the big makers, D'Addario, Dogal, Aranjuez, Savarez, Augustine and I thought the Hannabach Goldins were the best sounding strings for my guitar, but the Titanyl trebles are even better. Really soft under the fingers, less tension, and not as sharp sounding as the Goldins. Very, very sweet sounding and yet much more volume than a typical nylon string. So... although I love the Goldin basses, I must experiment more with this company and try these basses. Hannabach strings seem to be a classic case of "you get what you pay for". Heck, I might just try every string they make.
