D'Addario EJ45TT Dynacore NT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set
By: Spyros GounaropoulosWhen i put them on guitar the trebles were a little soft for me. But after a week all strings stretched and now i think that this set is easy to set your fingers on and keep the sound crisp and bright. I'll leave them for about 1,5 month to get a full conclusion. -
Hannabach Goldin 725 MHT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set
By: Alan HahnThis is an update to my previous review. I tried the basses. I like them even better than the Argento Silver and they are half the price. I can get a full set of the Goldins for the price of just the Pure Silver Argento basses. The Goldin basses are much punchier than the Argentos and make the Argentos sound muddy. I'm definitely impressed with the Hannabach company. I might experiment with some of their other strings since these are so excellent. -
Sabine Zoid Z-1000 Clip-On Tuner
By: Peter MacGregorI have used a Sabine Zoid Z-1000 clip-on tuner on a classical guitar for about a year. The tuner has worked well. However, the hinge on the clip which attaches the tuner to the headstock is fragile and has broken. The thickness of my headstock is 22 mm (0.866 in). I would not recommend this tuner for headstocks thicker than about 20 mm. -
GHS Fast Fret String and Neck Lubricant A87
By: Clemente RiveraProlongs string life, check. Cleans strings efficiently, check. Won't damage finish or fretboard, check. 3 star rating? Might be just me but even after applying just a tad bit of this product the oily feel is just too overwhelming for me. If there is a string cleaner out there that does just that clean your strings without the excess grease afterwards, please do pass on the info. -
Ergoplay Pro or Tappert Replacement Foam Pad 8.5 inches
By: Clemente RiveraGets the job done. No problems with the adhesive and an exact fit. -
Knobloch Actives ADN 33.5 Nylon MT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set
By: ron schultzI just changed strings on my "jobbing" guitar (Esteve 1GR08-Cedar)to Knobloch Mediums. The trebles have a clear, fat, rounded sound (not muddy) with great response and the basses are crisp, yet warm with great resonance. I was very surprised at the strings projection. Very pleased! -
Dean Markley SR2000 Medium 2699 6-String Bass (35-128)
By: Zechariah FrinkThese strings are the only choice for me. I have tried many other strings on the market such as: Rotosound, Daddario, Elixer, Cleartone, Ken Smith, GHS, Ernie Ball, and DR, to name a few! NONE match the feel, tone, sutain, and longevity of these. They bring out the best of every instrument I've used them on. I play a lot of styles of music such as: Jazz, R&B, Gospel, Reggae, Funk, Latin, New Age, Middle Eastern, and rock to again name a few! Some strings are made for one sound and style. These can be used on ANY genre and fit in. They respond quicker and and the tone really can be altered depending on your personal touch, and tone settings. Everything from finger, slap, tapping, harmonics, and chords sound more full than ever. They have a looser tension which keeps the neck more relieved and you can actually lower your action more since the string doesn't pull so hard on the neck like most other bass strings. I had used a gauge of these on my six string bass that had a 27 for a C. I felt that was too light. I needed something heavier than a 30 and was very pleased that this set has a 35. This C is doesn't get brittle sounding with more high end which I use in my tone sometimes. The B is the deepest, and most articulate I have used. You do have to stretch it more and carefully bend in into place, but that is no big deal. I use this particular set on an Aria Pro active six string. I use Mark Bass amplifiers, and Alesis compressors. I also use the medium SR2000s on an active Ibanez SR500 four string, and a modified, Fender fretless Jazz (four). I find that this string gets very little attention if any beyond the professional world. This was the ONLY place that had this gauge for sale. You can have the greatest construction, woods, and circuits but without strings, it's all for nothing! This is a string for a discerning musician that wants the absolute best of their instrument, sound, and craft. Thank you Strings By Mail for helping me get my sound and being here!!!
Keep the notes low and the groove high. Peace... -
Elixir 16052 Nanoweb Coated Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Light 12-53
By: Marc ScordatoThese strings are brighter then most Phosphor Bronze strings yet they are a bit warmer then 80/20's. I found them to be easy on the fingers as well. They are expensive but if they last as long as folks say they do it will be money well spent. -
D'Addario EJ45 Pro Arte NT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set
By: Glenn PattersonI have used this string forever, as have about half of touring professionals (like David Russel). These strings have tremendous sound and perfect intonation. Trebles are perfect, not too bright, not too mellow. Basses are solid. Tension is lighter than most any other brand, so they are easy on both nails and left hand fingertips. If you have a new guitar, this should be the string you try first (or J46 which is just as good, just a little higher tension). -
Gitano Guitar Support
By: Glenn PattersonI have a bad back, and this support has been a lifesaver. I have three guitars and the suction cups have had no damaging effect. I tried another brand once and the rubber reacted with the lacquer on one of my guitars. Don't use this on french polish unless you use a plastic shield (sold separately) under it.
*SBM Note: The Gitano ships with an adhesive suction cup protector, which may not be suitable for some guitars. -
Hannabach Silver Special 815LT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set
By: Glenn PattersonI decided to experiment and try something different than my normal J45 which I have used forever. Wow! These were great. The D string had bad intonation at first, but after I turned it around and reinstalled it, it was fine. I knew this string had a reputation for inconsistent D strings. The trebles on these have a very refined sound and the bases have plenty of punch. I can't lower the ranking for the D string, because many fine strings have some inconsistency. Most serious players just buy a bunch of sets and spare singles anyway, so an occasional bad string is no issue. -
D'Addario EJ46 Pro Arte HT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set
By: Glenn PattersonIn my 40 years of playing and owning many concert quality guitars, I can say without a doubt that this is a world class string and will make almost any guitar sound its best. Its no wonder that this string is used by so many touring professionals. The intonation is more consistent than any other string. The better your guitar is, the more likely you will eventually gravitate to this string. It doesn't try to flavour the sound, it just lets your guitar produce its own wonderful sound with volume and clarity. Same goes for the J45. -
Dogal Diamante Classical Guitar Strings Strong NR127C, Full Set
By: Lonnie BarberThis is my second set of Dogal strings. I vote with my dollars, for classical guitars they bring out the lovely sound that only a classical guitar can make. SBM is efficient fair and easy to deal with. -
La Bella 900W Golden Superior MHT Classcal Guitar Strings, Full Set
By: Sheldon ImperioUsed these strings for years. The trebles are nice and bright and will last very long. They are almost identical sounding to the 2001 LaBellas. The polished basses are decently bassy, but lack power and depth. Perhaps the polish makes them a bit life less. You'll definitely be able to find a better sounding bass. The trebles however are clear yellow, so they probably won't look so nice when paired with silver basses. -
Hannabach Silver 200 9008 MLT Classical Guitar Strings, Treble Set
By: Sheldon ImperioIf you're looking for trebles that are warm and round while still have acceptable volume/projection, then these would be for you. I chose these strings because I wanted my guitar to sound nice and warm. Upon trying the strings however, they lost a certain quality of brightness that I loved in other brighter strings, so I simply couldn't keep them on long especially since my guitar has a more dominant bass response with a weak treble response. Even though some brighter strings may sound a bit metallic at times, I would still be willing to bear with it in order to enjoy a sweeter, brighter, and louder string. -
Savarez New Cristal 500CJ_Trebles HT Guitar Strings, Treble Set
By: Sheldon ImperioThought these trebles were rather lifeless and weak. They didn't bring out the high end of my guitar at all. -
D'Addario EJ46 Pro Arte HT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set
By: Sheldon ImperioNot a big fan of these strings. They seem lifeless and bland. People like them for their neutrality and reliability. They are probably good at just bringing out the midrange. I personally prefer strings that really add emphasis to the high and low ends which I achieve by mixing deep basses and bright trebles. I think its all about personal taste and preference.
