Hannabach EXCLUSIVE Silver MT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set

First they looked like any other string. After I put it I hated the sound. Now after 2 months I just love it. A lot changed. Did not realise it needed such time to settle. I will only use these strings from now on. Forget the price. It is worth every cent. The gem of the set in my view is the low E. So so pleased with it especially having bought it from such a good company like stringsbymail. My gratitude the team of stringsbymail.

This is the Rolls Royce of guitar supports! No more suction cups that pop off in the middle of a performance and/or damage the finish. This stand is solidly built, looks like it is a part of the guitar, and absolutely will not come off. Easy to install. Incredible adjustability. Clearly designed by a guitarist for guitarists. Just be sure to get the magnets placed properly for your desired guitar playing position. Once you fasten them with the adhesive strips, you can only change things by adjusting the stand. However, if you need to change the positioning, the strips can be easily removed and new ones purchased at most hardware stores such as Home Depot. While a bit pricey, it is well worth the cost to no longer be frustrated by those suction cups coming loose. I have shown this to several guitarists and they are instantly impressed and motivated to buy one. You cannot go wrong with this product!

After reading rave reviews I tried Carbon Fiber strings from another manufacturer. To my ear they were much to bright also the strings were hard to the touch. These look sound and like traditional Nylon with more volume and sustain. I find them very similar to the Titianium trebles they replaced, perhaps just a bit brighter. If your a nylon string purist theses are the Carbon Fiber strings of choice.

I've been using Elixirs for the last 3 years. I thought I would give the NY Steel Daddario's a try once again. These are good natural sounding strings that I would recommend but in the end I prefer the sound and feel of the Elixirs.I change Elixirs yearly but the new ones sound the same so I've never actually worn out these strings. So in the end I DO like the Daddario's very much but still prefer the Elixirs.

After reading so many glowing online reviews about these strings, I had to try them. I put them on a new instrument I was demoing, a Yamaha NCX2000R. The first thing I noticed was the appearance of the strings, which is unique, goldish basses and clear goldish trebles. The sound of these strings is unique and unlike any other strings I have tried. The sound is remarkably balanced across all strings, with very little noticeable transition between basses and carbon trebles. The sound of the basses is somewhat subdued, more of a dark sound to my ears, without the punchiness that I prefer. The best summation I can offer as to overall sound quality is that the timbre falls somewhere between steel strings and nylon strings. The tension of these strings is comparable to extra high tension strings by any other manufacturer. Granted, Hannabach strings tend to run this way in all their lines but this set approached 100lbs total tension! Since SBM does not yet have the tension spec listed, this is from the back of the package for string dia. in inches and tension in lbs: E6 (0.043, 16.54), A5 (0.035, 17.20), D4 (0.029, 17.64), G3 (0.034, 14.99), B2 (0.028, 14.99), E1 (0.024, 17.64). One glaring flaw that I find in the set is on the E1 sting, which is thin sounding due to it's low mass. It is extremely difficult to get good slurs off this string, which is a major drawback for me. I had been trying to decide if I like these strings or not for more than a week and finally came to the conclusion that even though they have a unique sound, they are not my sound. I'm glad I tried them though just to satisfy my curiosity. If you are curious and on the fence about trying these strings though, I would encourage you to do so, just for the sake for knowing for yourself. I satisfied my curiosity, and I'm glad they are not my new favorite string, considering the price. If the quality equaled the price however, I would have no remorse in adopting them.

What a lovely set of strings! Not sure what more you could ask, especially for the price. Beautiful brightness and tone, strung and tuned up excellent, played right after stringing without re-tuning every few minutes. These are beautiful looking strings and were packaged very well. Besides the sound, I always appreciate how the strings feel to the touch and I really like how these feel. I will be ordering these again from Strings By Mail.

In all fairness, here is a response to the previous comment. This piece is in its original form and has been publishing and proofed with the composer himself. The Williams/Etheridge is likely their own arrangement of the piece. I don’t see how it is misleading as it is clearly labeled for solo guitar.
  • Hense 150LT Carbon 3rd Low Tension, Full Set

Hense 150LT Carbon 3rd Low Tension, Full Set

    By: Nancy Norwood
I just put on a set of the Hense 150 Low tension G3 carbon classical guitar strings. I have to say, I'm in love with these strings! The balance is perfect on my vintage classical guitar, where I prefer a low tension to protect the bridge. There is a tactile feel to the strings due to a coating to prevent corrosion and nicks. Although some folks might not like the feel, it gives me intricate control over the slightest movement of the strings, which allows the player to evoke those unique sounds by how you hesitate over the strings, or where you slightly drag or pull to give you the sound you're looking for. Hard to describe, but you notice it immediately as you start to play. Put another way, since the strings aren't slippery, you don't have to compensate for it. Instead, because of the "grippy" feel, you have more control over the strings and thus you can express yourself in the music so much better and easier. These strings lack the brightness I usually go for. However, the balance and feel makes up for it. They strung up nice and tuned up well. The packaging by Hense could be improved. The strings were all bare in a heap inside the package with just a few strings labeled, and those fell off as I pulled the strings out. So, it took some time to separate them. However, what I really care about in strings is the sound I can get, and in my opinion, these do not disappoint!

If your looking for the version recorded by John Williams, which I was, then this is not it. I'm presuming this edition was not written by Vasco himself, but transcribed by someone else, which it does not say. This is a very poor edition. The melodic line is not clearly written out (as being separate from the accompaniment), and where the melody does appear it has wrong notes in it, as compared to every other version of this piece I have heard. I have no idea what the author/publishers intentions were with this edition.

Truly awful and a complete waste of money. sigh!

Wow, had used one of the ergoplays and the dynarette befor this but did not feel secure with them. The Barnett is way better. it is rock solid and feels like part of the guitar. My back feels a LOT better with both feet on the ground. The Barnett support is super adjustable too.
If you are looking for a guitar support look no further, this is the one to get and keep!

I have arthritis in my right wrist and the size and thickness of these picks make them very comfortable to hold. The stiffness and sharp point mean that I can pick lightly and still put enough energy into the string to get a good tone. The finish does wear after some hours of use, but the end can be resharpened with sandpaper and touched up with some urethane.
  • Savarez Prodige 540AS Fractional Guitar Strings 58-64 cm, Full Set

Savarez Prodige 540AS Fractional Guitar Strings 58-64 cm, Full Set

Recently, I bought a 640mm guitar for my small hands after more than 30 years guitar performing. Using the regular strings for 650mm guitar, I found the strings were just too loose for me. I almost gave up playing my 640mm. This set saves my 640mm's life. The touching of my playing became very solid due to the strings' higher tension. The string has also muted the nail's noise compared with the strings for 650mm. That's must be the reason why Savarez designed this set for smaller size guitars. Thanks!!

Before this one, I have been using three other kinds of guitar support. This one, by far, is the best of all. Sucking cups are the problem for most of this kind of guitar support design. This one has a hard board can push the sucking cup attaching the guitar side board very tight and if making the "tail" longer can allow players using the right leg pushing the end part's sucking cup tightly attached to the side board as well. Great design! Hemre Music! Thanks!!

Have tried many types of strings and D'Addario's have been a "good but kinda boring" in the past. These have a richness of overtones are full and bright, with punch for my Ethan Deutsch flamenco guitar. These are my new favorites. YMMV.

I am a Suzuki dad and I used these cards on my son (12 yrs old). I am so impressed with the set up of these cards and my son has been so much rewarded. Just great that he can recognise the note on the staff and name it and play it. It is very well thought out and designed. It is the best flash cards I know off in the market. Without hesitation I will recommend this to other Suzuki families. Philip is so helpful too.

I agree with the other review that questioned the durability of these strings, due to the D string breaking. Overall, I really like the feel and tone of these strings, but they do not last as long as some others, usually with the D string being the first to go.

Tried applying the 2nd string twice, but broke on me both times! The strings seem good (I assume I just got a bad set) but they're different than their Red series for ukulele - they're polished, whereas the Red series has a gritty feel. I was able to apply the 1st and 3rd strings with some success before the 1st string broke on me a day later. Basses seem to be your average silver-plated copper, nothing special. Overall, not worth the risk when there are so many other options out there like D'Addario, La Bella, Hannabach, etc.

Hannabach Silver Special 815HT Classical Guitar Strings Full Set

    By: Alan Emerson
I am trying out different sets of strings on my guitar and just put these on about two weeks ago. I liked the sound immediately. The balance across the strings was very good. I was having issuses with fret buzz in the lower positions on the D string primarily, and since these basses are quite a bit stiffer than the Saverez Corums I had on previously, the buzzing was reduced, although not entirely eliminated. The basses had warmth and punch, and the trebles were clear and round sounding. However, after only two weeks, the D string broke on me up around the 3-4 fret. I have never had this happen to me before on a classical guitar while I was playing it. So, even though I liked the sound, I really think that the durability is questionable for this set. Probably won't be taking a chance on them again.
