Year 2019 Instrument type Ukulele Builder / Manufacturer Kala Instrument Model KA-SSTU-T Top wood Spruce Side wood Mahogany Back wood Mahogany Player Reed Wilson StringsThese Reds truly sing! They have a lower tension, which allows for wonderful plucking, and when strummed they sign the pants off of any other strings around, period. Only catch is, due to the iron particles imbedded in the strings (which makes them sound so bright), they are a beast to string. Truly, you need to be very careful and patient with them, especially the A (1st) string, as being too aggressive will result in a broken string. But your patience is rewarded with fabulously bright notes, and the most playable strings I've ever used. -

Year 2014 Instrument type Classical Builder / Manufacturer Kenny Hill Instrument Model Double Top Top wood Spruce/Cedar Side wood Rosewood Back wood Rosewood Player Peter Jones StringsI use Pro Arte Normal tension clear nylon J4501 for E1 to allow vibrato. I use Savarez fluorocarbon nylon alliance normal tension to give a louder but sweet B2 and G3 (542R and 543R). I use Hannabach Flamenco super low tension Nylon 8274 for D4, 8275 for A5 and 8276 for E6. The low tension and high tension sound very similar but low tension allows for easier playability but still great bass pizzazz. -
