Year 1984 Instrument type Classical Builder / Manufacturer Michael Cone Instrument Model Classical Top wood Spruce Side wood Rosewood Back wood Rosewood Player Ken Sribnick StringsDelivered with EJ45 D'Addarios. I recently tried the rectified EJ30s, which gave the instrument a new and very focused voice. I play a lot of Bach with all of his multiple voicings. As I play, each voice is distinct and clear. I've been playing for 63 years. -

Year 2004 Instrument type Banjar Builder / Manufacturer Michael Ramsey Instrument Model 7-string Classical Banjo Top wood na Side wood Maple and Rosewood Back wood na Player Michael Nix StringsI use the combination of Savarez Alliance on the trebles for a bright, springy tone, and the D'Addario light tension basses for warmth and sustain. This is a self-designed instrument. Maple and Rosewood rim, Mahogany Neck, Ebony fingerboard with a Maple and Ebony Bridge by Ivon Schmuckler. Countryman lavalier mic inside the pot and a Fishman Artist acoustic amplifier. -
Year 1993 Instrument type Classical Builder / Manufacturer Michael Thames Instrument Model Custom Top wood Cedar Side wood Cedar Back wood Cedar Player Anonymous StringsThe tone is richer and clearer, and adds a pretty nice sustain. The trebles, are given a nice crisp, clean, sound. However, adding the Cantiga basses gives a nice subtle kick: a deeper projection with the lower strings/notes. Using the Alliance Trebles against the Cantiga basses feels like a great tonal character balance: the trebles off-set the basses with more clarity and sustain and the basses become a little more 'boomy', giving my guitar an overall well-balanced sound. -

Year 1980 Instrument type Electric Builder / Manufacturer Mighty Mite Instrument Model Strat shape with a neck-through design Top wood Ash Side wood Ash Back wood Ash Player Russ Mallory StringsI have stainless steel frets, which are murder on strings: I have found that, of the treated strings available, the Cleartones last the longest (Elixirs last even longer, but they feel weird, and sound too dull for this guitar, which is pretty dark to begin with) while sounding closest to an untreated string. -
Year 1975 Instrument type Classical Builder / Manufacturer Miguel Rodriguez Instrument Model na Top wood Cedar Side wood Cypress Back wood Cypress Player Patrick Kerber StringsI teach at Southeastern Louisiana University. I am a former student of Pepe's. I have done my best to maintain the strong right hand technique I learned from Pepe - These?strings do the technique justice in my opinion. Latest example; I recently successfully?performed the Canzonetta Aria in the New Orleans Opera production of Mozart's opera,?Don?Giovanni?on stage - All were quite surprised that I did not need a pickup or microphone on the big stage at the sold out 2,200 seat Mahalia Jackson Theater in New Orleans.
