I prefer the Hard Tension Rectified Set for these guitars as stage instruments. This set of strings gives me the most robust bass response and crisp penetrating trebles that carry in a concert hall. I feel that I can get the most tonal color out of these guitars with the Rectified Set Hard Tension.

The hard tension provides the punch I need for dance accompaniment and the Titanium trebles provide a treble boost and better balance.

The main thing I love about Augustine Regal Blue is that it extracts what the instrument has at it's best; it enhances the guitar with a great palette of colors, finest tone and it has great projection and stability. It also offers the perfect "pressure" both on right and left hands, enabling to play with a great dynamics range.

The cedar gives color and the RC Strings high tension nylon gives brightness. The first string has a very balanced tension, and a good sensitivity to the 'vibrato'. The third string has not a matt timbre like other nylon strings.

The trebles have a bell like quality, and the basses are deep and rich. My 3A is not a particularly a high end guitar, however, i would pit it against anything in the same price range.

This guitar does its best work with thr factory recommended D? Addario EJ45 Pro Artes: big sound but easy to play for a student guitar for a serious intermediate player.
