Ever since I first published the catalogue of Sor’s works in my book Fernando Sor Composer and Guitarist in 1977 and published my first facsimile edition of the Complete Works for Guitar of Sor also in 1977, a few more previously unnoticed works of Sor have one by one come to light. For example, a new version of Sor’s op. 23 containing more works came into my own collection in time to be included in my 1982 facsimile edition of the Complete Works for Guitar of Sor. Then a copy of a previously unnoticed Clementi edition of Sor’s op. 12 came to light in Dublin with a splendid previously unknown campanelas variation, in time for it to be included in my 2004 re-engraved edition of the New Complete Works for Guitar of Sor.

So it should be no surprise to see that a few more guitar items by Sor or associated with Sor have come to light since that re-engraved edition of 2004. They are few indeed, but such as they are, here they are in this Supplement in order to bring that re-engraved 2004 edition of the New Complete Works for Guitar of Sor up to date. In particular this Supplement 2025 includes a previously unidentified Theme and Variations by Sor which is well worth playing and which, although it has been previously published in facsimile of the original manuscript, is here presented in re-engraved form for the first time as far as I know.

Anyone who owns the eleven-volume printed set of Sor’s New Complete Works for Guitar (TECLA 1200) may wish to acquire this present Supplement (TECLA 1212) which contains six items in total and which will serve to bring their set of Sor’s New Complete Works for Guitar up to date.
