This suite in ten movements evokes the rhythmic and melodic world of Transylvania in an accessible and engaging way. Built from folk motifs collected in the anthology of Béla Bartók, the work draws deeply from the folk tradition while presenting a personal and vibrant musical language.
Although its musical language remains approachable, its polyphonic structure presents several technical challenges that will be especially rewarding for guitarists wishing to explore this repertoire. Writing in a traditional style is, moreover, a true challenge for me: each return to this music becomes a new adventure, a new beginning.
