In all Bach's cyclical works, one sees evidence of Bach as a pedagogue; even his most sublime music is fundamentally didactic by nature. In the Sonatas and Partitas, there is a global arch between all movements. The very first gesture in Adagio in G minor, with its ample agreement, is in a way the signature agreement of the violin, in the same way that the middle finger can be considered as the signature agreement of the guitar – and it acts as an omen of what is to come.
