Tribute to English guitarist-composer John Duarte, In an English Garden is a neo-Baroque short triptych based on a charming harmonic fragment of the second movement of the well-known work of the composer's English Suite. The plan of the Prelude is in the style of the French Opening and the Sarabande accompanied by the Double is modeled on Bach's Partita No. 1 in Bach's B minor. The quote "Sit in an English Garden, Waiting for the Sun" is taken from one of John Lennon's favorite songs, I Am The Walrus.
