Each one of the three compositions of this book was inspired by different musical rhythms of Latin America: "Bola na Rede" is a choro (Brazilian musical genre) inspired by the tradition of the great Brazilian chorões, notably João Pernambuco, Pixinguinha, Dilermando Reis and Baden Powell. Valsa Venezuela, as its title suggests, is a Venezuelan waltz style that incorporates in its rhythmic the hemiola, a rhythmic pattern that alternates between 3/4 and 6/8 beat and vice versa. This same rhythm appears in Arairarruana (El Avila), a composition where I mix elements of Paraguayan Guarania and Caribbean rhythms (notably Guajira). Two pieces of this book are recorded on my CD's.
