Chiang | Sweet Sixteen CD

The musical expression of Olivia Chiang deserves intentional concentrated listening. The joy of Monsieur's Almaine comes through in every note and chord. The Chaconne is the most beautifully and most meaningfully played and I was thinking watching one of Ms. Chiang's performances of Bach on YouTube that Bach would be the most happy and smiling with how much the absolute most feeling she puts into his music. And this goes for every composer. Her interpretations are always my favorite versions of whichever piece she chooses to play. As Hilary Hahn said on her episode of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, performing music for people is like giving a gift to the audience. Having Ms. Chiang's performances here is a true gift. I am more thankful for her sharing her music with us with every listen.
