Creator Description:
This G&L is overall a loud & cold sounding guitar, has a ping overtone because of the Trem & brass rollers on the saddles. Has a medium level of overall sustainability. When picked hard the tone reflects snappy & tight, when picked medium or light, the tone reflects articulate and clear. The Lows are strong with a lot of definition. The mids are strong, with the upper mids being a little shrill. The Highs are nice and bright, however the edge of the treble notes are a little brittle.

I chose the Dimarzio pickups to enhance the strong characteristics and compensate for the weaknesses of the natural reflections of the guitar. The Goal was to create a Cold, yet warm haunting voice like expression from this guitar. It had to have openness when the pick attack was medium or light, and tension when the pick attack was hard. The final stage to achieve the sound goal with this instrument was the Ghostpowder Stage 1 custom string set.

The Optima Gold basses bring a smooth warmth, much better sustainability and pick attack clarity. The DR Black Beauty Trebles smooth out the upper mids and the brittle highs of the guitar. This gives it a smooth voice like sweet slurr to the notes. Just the right balance across the EQ spectrum to be the finishing touches of the Ghostpowder sound.
