Creator Description: The sound of the basses is truly pure with no lingering overtones or variation in tone (warble).

The polishing on them makes them pretty near as squeekless as you can get. They will last until they break, they are delicate and will bring out the best in your guitar. Downside is that they will fray and break more readily than other strings, I usually have to change them every six weeks or so, which is longer than I can keep D'Addario composites. Very expensive, but, I feel, worth it.

The third string from the Thomastic classic N series is as thin as your first string and lasts an awfully long time and has great punch and I feel I don't have to work as hard to get nice volume and clarity. Truly the best third string I have ever used, though I don't care much for the rest of the set as the overall sound is too muted.

I choose to use black first and second strings because of the color contrast with the silver strings, but use your own favorites here. I usually buy quite a few at a time, because you sometimes have faulty intonation,but good sound.

In combination this set will suit most pro players. The caveat being that you can't be heavy-handed with them.
