String review-- D'Addario 80/20 vrs XS acoustic "light"

The 80/20 strings sound very lively for a week or so. . . but as you may have noticed I put together a custom order from y'all for a light mix-- substitute 11. 5 and 15. 5 for the first two XS 11/52 strings, sub. 23w for the 22w, keep the 32, 42, and 52. Great tone and they last for weeks! I wish I could just order this custom mix as a regular feature--call it the fingerpicker light set. I play with (brass) fingerpicks, a regular thumbpick (Golden Gate-- the white ones, short attack, L-- hard to find the L) and I ask a lot from my 40s Gibson, but this lighter set is Perfect and the tone is a warm crackle with tons of overtones. I play in a string band and have enough of a commanding tone to keep up with any other acoustic instrument. 60 years of quest for tone. . . I have arrived!
