Superior flat wound strings

Dogal B96 flat wound strings are a mandolin pickers dream come true. They are a breeze to wind due to their non-slip construction features, they are easy on my fingers, and they maintain a luscious deep woody tone. Best of all, these strings last for many months without loss of tone or playability.

Strings By Mail Rocks!

I love the feel and tone Dogul flat wound mandolin strings impart to my instruments. ALL of the strings have extra windings at the tuner ends so even the E strings don’t slip like conventional strings when they are replaced. The Strings By Mail staff is helpful and professional. Don’t buy your strings from anyone else!!

Q: Good morning. What tension are these? I use very light as they would go on my 1899 Martin style 5 mandolin. If they’re heavier, I also have a newer vintage Calace Classico A.

A: These B96 "green tag" are not light tension, so best suited for your Calace. Dogal makes a "red tag" set that is light tension. We will be adding that set to our site very soon, model R47 and will be about $35 fresh from Italy.
