Always Tarnished Trebles
Review by Christopher B. on 23 Nov 2019 review stating Always Tarnished Trebles Friends, I don't write bad reviews just to make a point or to hate on a brand for no reason. That said, I have used DR strings EXTENSIVELY for YEARS but I think I'm gonna start shopping for another trusted brand. Why? Because DR can't get their act together and package their strings so they're not TARNISHED upon purchase! Strings By Mail are the "freshest" you can get and DR is still showing how you can take a good string and make it 'bad-er'.
Seriously, there is no way to attach a picture here but EVERY OTHER pack of DR's I buy have a tarnished G, B, or E string. Usually the Basses are fine but once in a while the D or A string is blackened too.
Frankly, it's just frustrating. When you get a good pack that has no problems, DR's are like butter. So clear, so responsive, and so good at staying in tune.
But when you get a crappy pack? Quick loss of life, sour strings, and frustration under your fingers!
It's a brand wide problem. Ive used 'Tite Fit', 'Pure Blues', and 'Flat Wounds' and it's pervasive. The issue is that they just "shrink wrap" strings. There by, trapping air in that corrodes. You'd think a company this established could afford VACUUM wrap technology!!!
Guess not.......
