Galli JF45105 Jazz Flat Flatwound Bass Strings, Medium 45-105

This is my second set of these and they dont disappoint. My first set have been on a Fender Precision bass for over a year now and they've broken in nicely. They have great tension, feel and of course sound. They are deep , mellow but have a bit a of added top end to them that I like.
They are very comparable IMO to my all time favorite flats La Bella Deep Talkin', but at a much better price.
As mentioned, they do have an added high end to them while still retaining that low end thump. Wonderful strings!!

I put the Galli flat wound strings on a Fender Precision bass with great results. Well rounded, smooth tone, and these feel good under my fingers. I hope S.B.M. starts carrying the 5 string set too.

Long-scale medium gauge. Beautiful strings. I was not able to install them because the winding length (measured from ball end to the start of the top silk wrap) is quite a bit too long for a top loaded Fender precision bass. Even the A-string is too long. These might work on a bass with thru-body string routing. Had to return them to SBM for exchange. Went with LaBella 760FL set.

"Polished" isn't hyperbole. These strings have a beautiful, smooth texture. Brighter tone than I was expecting when I first installed them, but have settled into a great warm, yet articulate, tone. Very responsive to both a light touch, and when digging in a little. Tension is only slightly stiffer than you'd expect from a similar gauge roundwound string.

I'm a novice bass guitarist but long-time musician. The strings that came with my new bass sounded thin and unpleasantly metallic. I bought the Galli Jazz Flats on the recommendation of Andy Irvine. They are a huge improvement on the stock strings - warm tone, supple to play, lighter and brighter than traditional flatwounds. Strings by Mail was fast and friendly. Their price was right and they didn't gouge me on the shipping. Highly recommended!
